What is the point in wasting effort on WiS features, when we have basically no WiS interaction in game.

At the very least allow us to visit another players captains quarters by invitation, kinda like a private convo, but with avatars.

Personbally I do not aprove of the work that would be required to actually bring us WiS, but something like visiting another players captains quarters would require no new art, just a string of code to redirect an avatar to spawn in another players captains quarters, by invition.

The only AURUM I have spent was the free stuff we were given, on some basic matching cloths for my alts. I will spend no real money, or spend isk onAURUM tokens or PLEX for AURUM until some sort of WiS interaction is available.

We do not need open public station environments were we can potentially see all other players docked at that station. That is far to heavy load, let alone the resources required to develop it. But a few small enviroments that can hold a handful of avatars at a time would at least give us some benifit from all the work that has already been done for WiS.

The NEXstore is a big fail so far. adjusting the interface is not the issue. The issue is nobody is going to spend real money on vanity items that can be destroyed, or are nothing but avatar clothing that nobody ever really see's. Seeing it in a 3D veiw window is not near adiquate, for it to be actually used, there needs to be an actual WiS environment where you can see other players avatars. That is the only way this wasted feature will get any traction.

I am assuming the only sales from the NEX store so far are from free AURUM that was handed out, or from players with insane amounts of isk buying PLEX or AURUM tokens to gain satus peices like the monicle. I think that is a fair assumption. EVE is not a game for stupid gamers, and spending real money on vanity items, that only you see is not something an inteligent gamer would do. Maybe the ship skins might do ok, buty still would only be bought by very ritch players. For most of the EVE player base it is nothing but a waste of time.

While the Clothing/WIS/NES feature is far from polished (especially the NES) I think it is still a good thing they update it as far as thier ressources allow it. Good job CCP Merc (+ Team?). Don't listen to the all the negative people here. Small updates are still better than no updates!

Since most of us mere mortals will never own one, it's the closest we're going to get...

Awesome, this is something I always thought we should have had! Big smile

Could it also be made available out of the NES? Specifically on the preview window you can click on from the Show Info box. That would make it easier for the people who buy this stuff off of the market to view what that particular item looks like on them.

Also is there still any plans for this to happen?

Is the option allowed for cross-gender previewing, such as Sibs wearing the coat Merc is sporting? Blink

While you are at it, can you update the normal character 3D view window to have the character do the walk animation and not just standing still?

Also in the NES, can you fix the scroll bar on the right as it is changing size depending on how far down you have scrolled. Also to scroll up and down using arrows/pgup/pgdown would be handy.

Do you not think that your efforts in this regard are completely wasted while there is no WIS in the game?
I've noticed that there's several *projects*, I mean players, that actually like the new apparel items introduced. Even though there's no WiS, there's still the Captain's Quarter. So at least for those players, such changes are welcome. Can't tell how many there are and also can't tell how much dev time those changes keeps them from improving other parts of the game (or which ones, anyway).

This made me giggle, even if probably unintentionally written. (:

There are people who enjoy this stuff and WiS is not needed for it.
Clothing and poses add a certain amount of depth most people do not understand,
because they have no idea said depth of interaction even exists....

But it does. In literally every online game out there...
... and OH BOY it turns quite a lot of people on when done right... ;)
