That sounds less like Eve dying and more like you killing Eve. Ice mining, even only "semi"-AFK is no way to go through life, son. CCP needs to rebuild the entire mining aspect of the game in its entirety.

Whilst Eve is not dying, it certainly isn't full of life.

I would say that we are in a period of stagnation.

We have no idea what the subs numbers currently are however the PCU is not looking to good and before people start to talk about summer, it has been pretty much been on a downwards slide since march.

Null Sec is awful for which both the players and CCP can be blamed for.

CCP for having awful Sov Mechanics that we have been asking to be changed for years and the players for preferring to blue each other to death then kill each other.

PvE is god awful.

I know a few people who been playing Eve for many years quit over the latest industrial changes although not being an industrialist myself not sure why. Something about screwing over those who have been playing for years to make life easier for those just starting out, can't comment on whether this is true or not.

High Sec is well High Sec, a place which is there for earning relative risk free isk semi afk doing mind numbing boring PvE. Sure you can gank and war dec but when you look how many people are actually ganked it is so tiny it damn well makes no difference and HS War Deccing so bad its not even funny.

Wormholes are no longer a place of mystery with the tools that have been developed using the API. If anything C5 and C6 are nothing more than a place to earn a ridiculous amount of isk in place which is more safe then any other place Eve.

Of course I may be wrong but appears to be a rare occasion that a corp / alliance is kicked out of a C5 or C6 these days. I mean there are 512 C5's and 113 C6's, How many Corps / Alliances have been kicked out in the last 12 months?

I suppose that only leaves Low Sec and whilst it has its faults, it is a lot more fun then anywhere else.

S sure Eve is not dying but it ain't exactly all sunshine and rainbows.

Or some other platitude suitable to that, anyway.

Oh, and in before the guys who says we need to start pandering to carebears to save the game from it's decade long death spiral.

Which carebears? The non risk taking null bears or the more exposed to risk hi sec bears? I get confused.

Eve is dying for me each day I can't get a belt. I used to do ice mining during the week semi afk due to commitments however helped me to make isk, but now it seems I can't get to any ice belts in my time zone. If I'm lucky I get one ice belt a week that i have to really travel for. I thought ice was going to be in all time zones and respawn every 4 hours, well it doesn't.

Unfortunately everynight during this week, I log in, see no ice belt then log out and play something else. A few nights I log in to check after an hour or so just in case there is ice only to fine, nada.

This is killing the game for me, I don't say EVE is dying I say, CCP are killing EVE for the players. One bad decision after another.

Dude if thats all your doing in Eve you might as well stay logged out for real.

I drew a picture to illustrate EVE dying.

EVE died. It was sad and horrifying all at the same time. EVE choked on a chicken bone in an undisclosed restaurant. But, then...much to everyone's surprise, Dora the Explorer was moonlighting as an EMT, came in with the ambulance and actually Heimlich/CPR-ed EVE back to life! It was incredible. EVE then had desert and put on another five pounds. That chocolate cheesecake goes straight to the thighs, you know.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

Mediocre game content attracting players that act like NPC's this is my feeling of the game. The old timers are fewer and fewer and only because a few of them I am still in the game.

The bright side to the statement, "Eve is Dying" is that its not dead. I have heard that since day one of my Eve experience and I, for one, do not pander to the naysayers. Eve Online, with all its faults, is still one of the greatest games I have had the pleasure of logging in to. I will continue to have faith that a game driven by a community of my fellow capsuleers will always pull through, even at its darkest moments. Whatever happens in the future, I am forever grateful for the friendships and rivalries I have made thus far. One could only hope to have the same type of bond with the fast twitch immediate gratification games on the market today.

EVE is a cold harsh universe, it's supposed to be dying, that's part of its cold harsh design.

After closing down so many offices, losing quality staff and multiple failed projects, record low numbers, I can only imagine that a moron would claim everything is fine.

EVE had the chance to make their game truly great. We could have had DUST and Valkyrie integrated into EVE in a meaningful way by now. Instead they squandered their profits on ****** side projects with only money in mind.

Pan (community manager back in 2003) was calling loads of people "Chicken Little" on the forums in June 2003 - I think that was when m0o blocked Mara-Passari & there were riots on the forums :D

At the time i thought it might be the end of the world .. with hindsight m00 were a highlight of the early game for me, they showed up down south later on and harrassed CFS pilots trying to get into null sth of Khanid. I cut my pvp teeth trying to survive the gauntlet.

Ah, look at the guy happy at the idea of EVE dying. Look on the bright side, you'll get to free up some HD space that you can use for the next game you hate and wish to see die while you keep it alive by paying to play it.

True. But the fact remains that with so many 'EvE is dying!' threads posted regularly, EvE seems pretty thriving to me...Blink
