You will be missed. Thanks so much for your amazing work on this game. I can only hope CCP can stop the hemorrhage before it's too late.

Q: So many well known dev's left lately, should we be worried?
A (Jester): Nope. (...) Worry a lot if Fozzie, Masterplan, Rise, Veritas, Bettik, Ytterbium, Scarpia, Arrow, or even Greyscale leaves. Worry a little if Punkturis, karkur, SoniClover, Affinity, Goliath, or Xhagen leaves.

Can we worry a little lot now? Bear

Silly quoting aside, this is a very serious blow to CCP.

People like Veritas are irreplaceable even if your company was full of good stuff. As opposed to living in a goddamned frozen rock in the middle of nowhere and being paid 20% less than average for the privilege of working along with clueless awful management as the company faces downsizing and serious competition for the first time in 11 years.

I really hope CCP Masterplan isn't next on the list, EVE would be well and proper stuffed then as good senior programmers don't grow on trees in Iceland.

Actually, they lost a heap of people post summer of rage due to substantial subscription losses.

Seeing so many talented Devs leave CCP for Riot makes me sad. Let's hope all this migration of devs are due to more digits in their bank accounts. But can't deny it's worrying when a passionate dev announces a new project then leaves.

Nevertheless best of luck Veritas!

You know what I am curious about, how many of the Devs which have left or which were made redundant in Iceland were not natives.

Also http://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/CCP-Reviews-E159347.htm

I appreciated that many of these are most likely made by people who are angry at losing their jobs however each one seems indicate that the upper management along with pay structure leaves a lot to be desired.

As for those who are saying there is nothing to worry about, how many experienced Developers need to leave before it becomes a problem?

He was competent, I would like to see him replaced only by Veritas v. 2.0.

If you were to ask Riot Games how they like their eggs...

They like them scrambled. I bet you thought I was going to say "poached".

But really, Veritas, you have contributed so much to EVE Online. You will be missed.

I can guess how big of an issue living in the center of an ocean on an (let's be honest) active volcano is for non-natives who are not criminal masterminds with laser-sharks.

Good luck in riot, be sure to send a post card.

Yes, obvious I-am-angry bias aside, some points just keep repeating.

CCP relies on passionate and bright people who love their job enough to accept a lower wage and cope with Iceland's quirks.

Once the passion fades, or something cools it... well, they leave. In that sense, Iceland is a liability for CCP.
