Adjustable Sun Brightness

Please please pleaseee let us adjust the brightness of suns. At least on my setup, d-scanning in system is almost impossible unless you can block the sun with your ship - the sun blots out all of the brackets so you have no idea what you're doing.

Additionally, in combat I invariably have to keep my camera facing away from the sun if I'm going to keep an eye on what people are doing without getting blinded, which makes flying a PITA. This isn't to mention just generally getting blinded by the sun as I fly past it, which has tempted me to wear sunglasses while playing EVE on several occasions. (I wish I was kidding. When I look at the sun my entire screen is a blinding white. Video drivers are all up to date etc.)

And while you're at it, make it so that wearing sunglasses on your character reduces the sun brightness automatically. Cool

First of all, a sun is supposed to be blinding. I mean, just try to look at the real life sun. It will simply burn out your retina, and even there, the atmosphere reduces the amount of deadly rays coming down to you. In space, the only thing protecting you is your ship. So it does make sense that the sun looks really bright when looking directly at it.

Second, it is part of the normal challenges of a spaceship game that you have to deal with. In some systems, the sun is brighter than in others, so if your sun is too bright for you, change system or just don't look at it.

Well, regarding that, I don't think any of us pod pilots are looking at the sun directly, without blocking or filtering certain frequencies. In fact, in the movie Sunshine (sorry, couldn't find a link that shows it), they had a view of the Sun with adjustable luminosity, allowing them to look at the Sun even when they were getting close - and at a point (probably when you WTZ to a Star) they'd end up dying if they'd even let 1% of light pass through.

Wait, you're seriouly arguing that when we're immortal pod pilots viewing the world through camera drones we can't control how bright we see the sun? RP aside, this is a game, and is designed so the players have fun. Worrying about retinal damage is not part of the 'normal challenges' of any game.
