Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place but I've only just noticed that there is a -0.1 to -1.0 part of space, can anyone tell me what the difference is between them an 0.0 sec space?

Thanks.

in null, the lower the sec status the more anoms/ better belts you get.

In -1.0 space everyone can hear you scream and then posts it here

-1.0 space is harder than -0.1 space. I believe to, that costs increase and different chances of officer spawns too.

Wormhole space is always -1.0 and is not null (obviously).

As far as I know, this is correct. If, however I am wrong, please someone correct me.

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

I think that all W-spce systems are -1.0 but is there any null-sec systems that are -1.0 too?

Anything below that exist?

What you are referring to is related to something known as "True Security" or "TrueSec":

Quote:
True Security

The EVE client displays system security as a range of values from 0.0 to 1.0 with increments in tenths (i.e. 0.1, 0.2, etc.). In actuality, system security is a value from -1.0 to 1.0, with values being rounded to the nearest tenth and values lower than 0.0 being shown as 0.0 in the client. The rounding up of vales can sometimes lead to some confusion, for example if system true security status is 0.89, structures may be anchored there, even through it system security is displayed as 0.9.

When you reach 0.0, each system actually ranges from 0.0 to -1.0, as the systems reach closer to -1.0, the spawns become more valuable. Exceptions would be NPC 0.0 and wormholes. As the "TrueSec" in NPC 0.0 doesn't apply the same, allowing for valuable spawns (Officers^) to appear in any system in NPC 0.0, and wormholes are all listed as -1.0, which then means the Wormhole "class" determines the spawn types.

Hope this helps.

Yes, some -1.0 Null exists as well, the PI there matches the PI in wormholes because both are -1.0 true sec. There's other stuff that comes into play, anoms and ore and ice and whatnot.
-1.0 systems exist just like 1.0 High Sec, they are few and far between but they are there.

As an aside, my understanding is that the security number posted in the top right is always one sigfig, but that the actual number may be many decimals longer. Example:

-0.15829578

and

-0.2340596

would both round to show as -0.2.

Is this correct? Does anyone have confirmation on this?

Yeah, well, it's just like my opinion, man.

That's what I gather from this quote. However, the values don't make any difference in W-space. All PI is best PI, spawns depend on WH class.

-1.0 > 0.0 > 1.0

The lower the value the more valuable the system in every regard.

All WH is considered -1.0. WH class determines the rat spawn value and resource value (gas). -1.0 null sec does exist but as mentioned is as few as 1.0 systems. NPC null sec, as mentioned, is a slightly different from the vast majority of null.

-.01 space is awful for ratting. Belt chaining is best done in -0.5 or less to ehlp maximize value.
