You haven't heard?

EVE is dying.

Whether this had anything to do with CCP network infrastructure resilience or not is pretty irrelevant (though I personally think it is crap). The key thing is it happened, again, for the umpteeth time. And whenever time it happens, the Eve brand is hurt by it. Sooner or later, these attacks, combined with the Crius destruction of high sec industrialists, the null sec stagnation, the exodus of wormhole players post-Hyperion, the momentary ending of Caldari / Gallente FW, and the removal of high sec incursions courtesy of ISN/ TVP, all point to Eve falling below some critical mass of players online, and that is all she wrote.

Can't imagine how pissed, say, a JF pilot would be if it happened as he entered the cyno.

If they aren't doing so already, they should restrict all forms of aggression when they detect this has happened. Remove all timers from disconnected players. remove them from space and then re-engage aggression mechanics .

Hey guys.

You noticed that too did you? I'm not jumping to any conclusions, but somehow, I don't feel like this is a coincidence. It could be, but again... not jumping to conclusions.

It could also just be that this is the start of Tuxford's new shift everyday now, though...

yeah. something seems off. Technically, TQ did not go down.

That's today. What about yesterday? I'm in Australia, we don't have either of those capitalist slimebags ISPs. And why at the exact same time?

Speaking of capitalist slimebags US ISPs, I think I may have found part of the problem.

I live in Australia, and I have cable. I'm getting, on average, 60-80Mbps consistently. The US has the infrastructure much more readily available than Australia does to get at least this, consistently. It's a bit of a joke.

Maybe what the FCC needs to do is get clever - instead of trying to redefine broadband, just create a whole new category that makes broadband sound substandard, like dial-up does today. Don't ask me what you'd call it though, I've been drinking again.

well. what's odd to me is that not many people are talking about it, when it affected 30k+ clients yesterday, and 15k+ clients today.

if I remember to, I'm going to watch the EVE map in-game tomorrow evening up to 05:00, to see what regions are going out. or if anyone seems to know about it (by region/constellation) and is logging off ahead of time.

in this image, look at the "past week" chart. notice how the little hump prior to downtime is missing?

Taking bets now, 3-1 odds that Rain gets disconnected while observing the map when it happens.
