Hi,

Its so nice to see you.. please come blow up a ship you probably wont ever see again in your whole eve career.. PS we are giving out prizes if you can just come and have some fun! PS the event may need to be changed a little bit.. nothing is perfect.. thats why you are here.. TROJAN MAN!!!!! but i digress.. in the end

YOUR WELCOME and THANK YOU are fewer words than the river you shared with us.

And I might say that had I even been able to SEE the ship once..

But no, they would say go here in the channel supposedly telling you want to do, only it wouldn't be true.. it wasn't their cyno, it was some players with battleships or frigs waiting to kill everything.

If they advertised it as "I'll be in this system, have fun" I wouldn't be complaining.. well, not to them, just to CCP for being unable to use eve for over 3 hrs.. But it wasn't.. they said in chat Where, When, and it wasn't even followed by them. They didn't say the system when they said they would, they did say where to go IN system when they said they would, only that place never existed.. there was no cyno with a gate to get to the rev.. half hr later they said another place, but by then it was too late.

I'd of had more fun if they just said "I'll be in lowsec" or "It'll be in Nisuwa".. cause they I wouldn't have gone places I shouldn't have, like a cyno at 0, expecting to take a gate and trying to get there before Smartbombing BS's, because they they said so..

The Event as a concept was fine, it was failure in communication that ruined it for me. One of the first people in sys, died to following instructions, and was left unable to even see the ship because by the time I was able to dock, build a new ship, undock, and warp there, it was gone.

So not only are you ignorant but also an idiot.

1. They specifically said they would light a cyno in a few mins and it would be 9au below the sun. NONE of the cynos were 9AU below the sun, the closest to that was miles off at around 20 and the rest were on a horizontal plane.

2. They did say the system when they said they would. The locked chat so only they could post and it was clear as day.

There was no failure in communication, there was your failure as a player. You should know Eve, you should know to be patient and any noob worth their salt know Eve is full of tricksters and shouldnt lemming into things without first taking a second to assess them. You were desperate to get on the Rev kill and were too worried about it popping early that you blindly warped around and died and you utterly deserved it.

tldr: youre an ungrateful idiot, **** off. :)

Just to add one of those bait cynos in a deep safe was brilliant :-)

Yes there was horrible TIDI,
Yes there were some client problems in this situation,
Yes there were nearly 5000 players at this event that were shooting the Revenant and each other!

All in all it was a pretty fun experience, even though the gameplay at that point had more resemblance with some turn-based table top wargame than any actual space sim :) It was literally fine to start a warp or lock up an enemy, and go AFK for 10 minutes before coming back to find the game in nearly the same state.

I can only imagine the slaughter that went on at the gates as various gangs moved in and out of the actual event arena, and the killboards of those that brought smart-bombing battleship gangs to said gates :p

I've got a lot of respect for those organizing this event, and the FCs running the various maxed out fleets that dive balls deep into it. Your patience and persistence dealing with all the other players in the game (both inside and outside your fleet) at that point is amazing.

Thanks,

-Che

Actually managed to arrive on the revenant site before the revenant itself Shocked So I had front seat tickets to everyone arriving & the huge chaotic fight that ensued from it!

Published a report on it: Revenant supercarrier destroyed as promotional stunt by Eve-Bet Now with (unoffical) kill list included!

If anyone has links to screenshots & videos, I would love to add them to the report, with your permission ofc! You'll be credited for it!

Two capitals went down that evening tho, the revenant, as planned ofc, and a Thanatos who forgot his supportfleet.
