We've all lost tons of stuff from loot scoopers and it's downright annoying. I'm sure I've lost billions in potential isk myself. I'm not mad because I'm already space rich, but I thought I'd open this thread for other victims of theft. And to the loot scoopers, I applaud you and would like to hear your comments also.

It's not 'your' loot until it's safely in your station hanger. Twisted

Sometimes when I'm taking from wrecks, I will convo them and link something like a dead space ab or armor repper. I'm always very excited to do this as I rub it in their face. Let's be honest though, the only dead space I loot is from player wrecks.

There is no such thing as 'potential' isk.

You attempted to thieve the items floating in space from the NPC ship or structure you blew up/raided. That's the theft. Subsequent acquisition by someone else after that isn't theft.

I don't really agree with that. The wrecks are marked yellow and clearly note whom they belong to. Game mechanics allow us to take from wrecks that don't belong to us, resulting in suspect status.

It wouldn't be as fun if the wrecks didn't actually belong to them. The fact that I can clearly see that something belongs to you and take it is what makes eve the game we love.

One time. I was missioning and someone stole a wreck of metal scraps from me.

I was sad.

So I wrote them an angry letter stating how angry I was.

I then tracked the pilot's mother down, took her out to a nice dinner and never called her again.

I have a post-gank EVEmail template that thanks the client for providing (link deadspace module HERE), and informs them that their generous sponsorship has funded X gank catalysts.

It also works on this principle.

What is beautiful about this is that with your one evemail you are increasing the chances that the bear will shoot the next person that steals from his wrecks or starts chewing on his MTU.

Just imagine if we all did this in an attempt to pay it forward for the next thief.

Tears of joy.
