Revenant event killmail

I'd rather forget about the event than to see a killmail of it. It was ******** boring thanks to 4500+ in system and the great slow motion mechanism of tidi.

It was fun to hit warp to the site and enter warp minutes later. Then land on the site another few minutes later. Then grid load a couple minutes later. Then.....targeting the ship...that was the great part. Took minutes just to lock it. Firing weapons was fun. Waited minutes for that to work. Then waiting for the log to register a hit. Finally seeing I hit it, I said **** this this **** is too much fun, so I warped out. That took a lot of minutes to happen. Actually went and made me a sandwich, came back and my ship was just starting to enter warp.

Yes that was a great event. I look forward to the next one....

Can a Dev or GM confirm that there won't be a killmail generated?

I would like to hear at least a response from someone at CCP on what's going on. This is five pages and four days later. I realize this weekend was busy with at AT but at least a " we're working on it " from CCP would be great. Despite what ever you think of events such as these 5000 people took the time to come out and play. I had fun being a part of it but I would like to know what CCP is doing about the KM.....

Without a kill report, the entire thing was just a meaningless lag-fest.

These kinds of events are ********.

Nothing spoils the organic gameplay that makes EVE what it is more than scheduled and themed events with ******* prize giveaways. They're nothing more than theme park attractions.

We need more Titans jumping instead of bridging then.

Compared to how it use to be. Where you didn't know if you were connected to the server or not. Waiting for the client to crash as the node crashed causing the server to go sideways as well.

Yeah TIDI is great compared to what used to happen....back in 2006 or so....everyone had single core processor....battles over 600 people would be too much. Remember getting a FPS lagspike in a massive battle, locked up the entire computer, couldnt alt tab, only option was restarting, i waited 10 mins and the next frame showed up of my pod at station hahaha....maybe TIDI is the reason these massive coalitions are able to exist

So what have we learned from this event?

That killmails only being available to the person who got last damage is stupid beyond belief.

Hoping Im not making a false assumption here. Even if I am, that really is damn stupid!

Hey guys.

The event was, however, created by dev hacks.

Would you care to explain?
Anyone can request a system reinforced if they are expecting a large fleet fight. I think 4900 people qualifies.
Someone built the Rev.
Someone flew the Rev.
A Rev can go into low sec.

Where is the Dev hackage here? I'm honestly curious exactly how CCP 'cheated' the game to make this event happen, as far as I know the only thing they did was reinforce the node and watch it in person.

The ship was moved into an incursion system by devs, and correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it also placed in station?

My assumption on the latter is based on them having done exactly that before, with Marlona Sky's Nyx.

It was not an Incursion system, and it did not undock. It cyno'd in and warped to a Large compound where 4800 people dogpiled on it and shot eachother, as well.
You clearly weren't there.

No, I wasn't there. I never tried to give any impression that I was.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

CCP Fox Four confirmed on reddit, that the KM was not generated due to server lag,

Quote:
It doesn't exist.

TiDi at less than 10% plus that many people on the killmail means server goes welp!

Also, the logs show lots... Just not anything about that killmail.

why was that posted to reddit and not the eve forums? i really can't understand why they wouldn't post here where its so easy for all the customers of ccp to find.

do the log not show damage and who did the last damage?

Why dont you shutup about stuff you know nothing about.

there was no low sec incursions so they went to plan b which was create a mission, clean out the first room and teleport it into behind a gate. That didn't work so they teleported it to a large complex so people could warp to.

What was done by the devs was totally doable by players

Event was meaningless anyway really. 99% of the people there are there to plink a super, they didn't care whose it was or why the event (or any other like it) was being run in the first place.

Whilst it's vaguely interesting that this is the highest number of people in one place it's not like they were there for genuine reasons ala Asakai et al, so it's not like it is relevant for CCP PR.

My heart truly bleeds for self-confessed killmail obsessives, particularly ones where their hollow contribution of a lone plink was irrelevant.

Some dude claims to have calculated the total blows, and has a link to the 3k+ pilots. Would be good to have this independently confirmed, ofc.

Yeah, saw that .tab data file but it doesn't have summaries. I like how the pastebin is all already summed up for us.

And no, not downloading the windows app from 'not a trusted' (as opposed to untrusted) source - I hope you understand.
