Is wormhole space quieter now, or am I scanning in the wrong place?

We've recently moved from a C2 into a C4 with a C4/C2 static. We now have great long chains, due to 2 statics out each of our statics, which is great, yet recently I have been hardly finding anyone scouting.

I think it could be for a few reasons, just not sure which one.

  1. Being Unlucky and not finding anything.
  2. Now I'm scanning mainly down the C4 chain, whereas before we would jump out into HS and scan entrances from HS to wormhole space. Maybe these k to j-space wormhole systems are more busy because they lead to HS?
  3. There are less people in Wormhole Space
  4. I haven't sacrificed enough corpses to Bob

Just wondering what other people are finding. We know a few other corps that have moved into C4 space since the patch, and we have also sold our old hole, which shows that people are still moving into J-Space.

I'm just wondering if I should ignore the C4 static and just go out into HS and scan like I used too.

um yeah... who ever completely wrecked the chain map and turned it into a giant penis... don't. - Angel Riot

Your C2 static will provide you with access to some of the most lucrative PvP in wormhole space. Granted due to Hyperion it will take a bit longer, but roll the C2 until you find someone or until you reach a C2 with a C2 static.

I find that C4s are still generally quiet, but its only been a few weeks (although I have come across several people moving out).

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

Wspace activity is as it was before from my POV, my guys were a little more cautious to begin with but you work around, changes in mechanics are good.. shakes things up.. eve needs more of it..
the older players get comfortable with there meta's and whine like fags... in reality life is good.. try that tidi we attended last night or nullsec bollox... WH life is challenging but worth it..

I think it's still too early to tell the difference; I've had days with a lot of activity after Hyperion, and others with little to no activity. Overall I feel PvE activity is lower but my sample size is hardly meaningful and the true results won't show until a few months pass and people adapt to the changes.

The site spawn rate has definitely gone down. Now I don't particularly do PvE (I occasionally do dabble) but we haven't had any sites other than Ore sites in our hole since Hyperion. And I'm noticing a lot less in some C4s too.

As a C2 resident, where the income was already shockingly bad, Hyperion has actually made it worse. Not that I am particularly bothered persay (I prefere PvP) just stating what I have seen, which is less sites and a proverbial shiteload of wormholes.

The amount of pew we've found in wspace is similiar now compared to the past months. We get very little activity from whs, always have. That's why we got out to null or low to get our pew on Big smile

I guess just now we have a chance to catch a cap rolling holes. We landed on grid with a thanny just as it jumped and closed the hole the other night.

I've been getting way less activity in C4s since the Russian Exodus a few months ago. I'm not really sure where they went. C2s are the same way, plenty of towers, but I never see anybody active.

Typically we see people from other C5s or C6s, but they're usually prepped with 20-30 pilots and we're not able to do much with them. All in all, I think things have been getting quiet in lower wormholes for a while due to the risk vs. the reward not being great for the average pilot, and some of the changes in Hyperion might have contributed a "nail to coffin" event.

Have seen literally nobody running a single site in the 79 wspace systems siggy says I scouted since I came back from a longer break when Hyperion was released. Most of them were c3 or c2, also some c1 or c4, almost no c5/6. Not even signs of someone recently having done sites (like wrecks, guy in noctis idling in pos, etc).

Although I like the changes in principle, wspace residents seem to have been scared to death by them. And site income in c1-3 is just too low to take the risk. I'm not even sure it's worse since Hyperion, but also not better, and it needs to get a lot better. I hope people will adapt, and also CCP will buff lower-class income.

On the bright side, I saw someone setting up a pos. First I thought I came across one of those many corps that supposedly leave wspace en masse, but they were moving in, not out.

Not scanning enough. Also, wspace content is NOT limited to scouting your chain. You gotta create content in other ways.

But it does appear that our chains are becoming quieter and quieter, most WHs with minimal to no activity.
Yesterday we found an empty C5-C5 magnetar
We were all surprised to see no towers

You must be looking in the wrong place. Moloney has a T3 gang every hour pass through his home.

C4 C2/C1, still seeing people every night, still getting K162's around the place. Even got our first frig WH in home system last night. Got to crack the destroyers out and have some fun.

W space has always been hit and miss, you chain up a few non-your tz WH's and it feels completely vacant. Roll the WH or keep on scanning.

Due to a combination of things, I think the answer is a little bit of both.
With the increased frequency of wormhole spawns, the new uncloseable frig holes, the lower rate of site spawning, the slightly increased difficulty of closing holes, the low risk/reward payout, and not having to scan ore sites.... I think that overall wormhole activity is probably down, not just since Hyperion though.

I used to really like scanning in a T3 but now that i can't get through half the wormholes (frigate only) in our chain, i can't really be bothered anymore.

Well they do say people hate change Blink ... but if you feel the changes have improved wormhole space and increased how much fun you have in wormholes, i'm happy for you.

Well, because it craps on the lower class folk or those with too few numbers to afford the risk of rolling holes, I can't say I'm pleased by these changes. As a corp, however; I think we've come to love the changes.

Frigate wormholes, though... **** those things...
