I think a lot of the PLEX inflation is due to mass mining (easy to do afk). This is flooding the Eve economy with cheap raw materials, and making real money relatively less valuable - hence the increased price of plex.

Uhm. Yeah, no. That would, if anything, have the exact opposite effect. But then, mining has no effect on the money supply to begin with so its ability affect a non-manunfactured good whose price is only determined by its own supply and demand and on the money supply is pretty much zero.

Wrong. Isk is just a gateway currency. All it does is reflect the relative exchange rate between eve stuff and real life money. Imagine if it was twice as easy and quick to make ships, we would expect that a PLEX would then get you twice as many ships. What we see is plex increasing in isk price, and basically everything else decreasing in isk price. That suggests that Eve stuff is becoming more plentiful and cheap to obtain. Most plausible culprit - mining.

Edit - just ask yourself what would happen if Eve was really flooded with isk faucets? Logically all ships equipment, etc...would inflate in price. Instead we see the opposite effect, where deflation is the main phenomenon. This shows that the problem isn't too much isk - the problem is that it is too easy to make ships, mods, etc....

It is flooded with ISK faucets. I agree that production is easy, and with all the people mining and not enough blowing ships up, it works with the amount of isk made by the isk faucets and the balance of minerals:thingsblownup isn't close enough, so there is plenty of excess things on the market, causing lower prices for stuff. This also affects plex prices, because the people making billions daily don't need to spend as much paying for their ships, so they're willing to spend more and more on PLEX, because they have the excess ISK.
Source: shower thoughts.

It's actually pretty simple...the rate of inflation will be (taking g as the growth rate), inflation % = g(isk) - g(stuff)

So the only way to have generalized deflation (which we have) is if the growth rate of stuff exceeds the growth rate of isk. This means that the problem is not isk faucets, the problem is too much mining, and suggests that the solution is a major nerf to mining.

During last week the price of the PLEX in Dodixie has gone from 800 to 760 milions. But what is really interesting, is that volume of sold items has jumped from stable 3,8 milion to stable 2,8 milion. And stay like this. From my point of view it is clear, that such behavior is not entirely "supply and demand" thing. Someone speculates on PLEX very intensively.

When plex was 400 mil, what was the price of trit back then?

Does trit inflate on the same scale as plex? they should be somewhat related

CCP told us during Fanfest that Plex normally go through several people before actually being used, so the majority of the sales of PLEX are to speculators, not actual users. We already knew this.

Want to get to fanfest... .buy tickets for PLEX
Whant to get to Wegas.. buy tickets for PLEX
Wnat to help to save the whales :D ... donate with PLEX
etc
etc
etc...

ok, ok, it may not be just that but come on ... it`s not helping either.

IMO for some time it`s more fun to just pay for acc using cc. and by fun I ment playing the game not farming ISK 29 of 30 days like crazy and then do it all over again.

I could only hope CCP will lower the price to 10.-EUR/30days

Pretty sure there's some crossover going on. Sometimes, I post on a thread that turns out to be not the thread I thought it was, because it has all the same things being said, but because nothing I post lately is relevant to anything except my own whimsical amusement, it doesn't really matter much.

Speaking of whimsy, something strange happened today. I got asked out by a female. I know right? I was stunned my own self, I wasn't even trying to impress her or anything. Anyway, she's a checkout girl at my local supermarket which I visit every day at 5pm sharp, because I'm anal about routine. Sometimes she's on, sometimes she's not, but I always enjoy when she's on because she's the only one who'll spark up a legitimately sincere conversation with me and show interest. I always just thought she was naturally happy. Turns out I was right, but only half right, she's totally into me.

So I'm supposed to go with her to some comedy club open mike night next weekend because she found out that, despite my occasional rash mood, I want to give standup a try one day (hence my forum posting of late). We're gonna have dinner and she said that, the mike is open, all I gotta do is jump on it when no one else is and give it a go if I'm up for it. (Giggity... wat?)

Now, I face a dilemma, because I'm a cowardly fool when it comes to stages. I used to sing a lot of karaoke but that was a long time ago and things have changed. A few weeks ago, I found myself having to address more than two people at the same time in an editing conference and broke out in boils, and that was just a conference call...

Might have just been the curry I'd had for lunch though, can't be certain.

Anyway, I have zero prepared material as well and I can improv, but the problem is the stage, imma be too nervous for improv. I've never done standup in front of a crowd I don't know, just friends who I encourage to boo me on purpose to prepare me for the worst (actually, secretly, it's so they don't feel ashamed to boo me for real when I do bad).

So, I probably won't be getting on the mike but, the club has at least two regulars and will host various international comedy stars from time to time so at the very least, it'll be an enjoyable night. Pretty sure she's gonna think I'm a pussy by the end of it though, and while that may be a dilemma if I wanna go further with her, I'm also not entirely sure that I do, I'm a pretty withdrawn human being most of the time. If I'm out of my house for more than five minutes, I start to feel quite agoraphobic, even if no one is around. It gets worse if there are cats though, and there are ALWAYS cats.

And that's my silly irrelevant Day in the Life of Remiel Pollard story for this evening. Now, back to regular posting...

Suck it, Veers.

After a while, Remiel - you learn to just let Veers get it all out of his system.

Name a topic, he has a very strong opinion about it - and regardless what anyone else says, what evidence is presented, what CCP says, or anything else under the sun - he will stick to his opinion like a drowning man clutching a life raft. Pick a topic, really, any topic you choose :)

As the leader of a mighty one man corp that needs to reform often as to never have to deal with the wardec mechanic, he will educate you on any topic you choose.

Someone scare up Drysonbennington, please. We just *have* to get the two of them together :)

Shhh. Don't talk to our resident Ivy League educated space lawyer in such a way, if you say his name one more time we will have to listen to his opinions on everything. It will be just like torture, terrorism, emotional abuse, baby punching, and everything else all rolled into one.

Man...

If it'd been before my cancer, she would have got a 'not interested' straight up.

But I have developed... no, rediscovered an old perspective on life, one I thought I'd lost in my 20s after a LOT of bullshit, and this time, I don't intend to let it out of my sight. I'm gonna give this a shot, see how it goes at least.

I was gonna be on the news.

I was randomly asked by a news crew what I thought of Tony Abbott's cuts to various welfare services.

Literally all I could do was fart.

I think that's why I wasn't on the news Shocked
