Too bad it's a hoax. Not that I wish anyone to be hurt, but people really need to stop the swatting.

It's just ******** on so many levels, and the fact people are doing it on such a big scale as today, has me worried for the lowering intelligence levels of our society.

Too bad he couldn't claim Affluenza as a defense. If it worked for Ethan Couch after killing 4 and injuring 11 while drunk driving, I don't see why it doesn't apply here.

Actions have consequences.

They should. Especially given the outcome of this, I think that's about right. Might make the next pimply little puke think twice before doing something like this.

[edit: Whether this specific instance is fake or not, this actually happens of late. I know of three incidents involving semi popular twitch streamers. If anyone is caught doing this, a hefty sentence is indeed in order.

Yeah, but if you put someone in jail that long he magically disappears and the problem is "solved".

Who knows, if this practice picks up maybe society at large will actually start to question why every small town in the states needs its own APC, grenade launchers (ostensibly for tear gas only), reconnaissance drones, etc.

At the very least, police organizations might actually try and verify their information before breaking into a private household and pointing millitary-grade assault weapons at unarmed civilians.
