Hello all i have a question or two about POS's and BPOs....if i have an outpost in null is it still benefical to research thru the outpost or a pos? what else can a pos offer an individual that a station cannot when it has refining capabilities and a rorqual?

also if one was to get into buying a bpo and not a tiny one like ships and above anyone have any reccomendations for making isk off bpos?

just generally new to the area of this stuff and am seeking advice thanks!

How much does the initial setup for a POS costs ,make sure to add monthly fuel, and how much does it cost to do ,whatever you are planning, in a nullsec station? Is it an NPC station in nullsec?

I'm sure you can google the different stations available and what benefits they may or may not hold. Reprocessing, manufacturing, research, invention, etc etc.

If you are not sure ask your alliance or corp.

As for profitable BPO's, I'm pretty sure not many industrialists are going to let you in on their 'secret'.

Before you do any building, research your BPO's

POS research will be faster than any station but a Caldari or upgraded minnie, you will have to look at the bonuses or use the new feature on the Industry UI and try various facilities, shows both price and duration

It largely depends on the type of outpost, its upgrades, and what you are using it for.

Outposts
• Improvement platforms that added manufacturing slots instead increase Material Efficiency by 1%. This may be cumulated
• Improvement platforms that added research slots (ME, TE, copy, invention) now reduce research costs by 10%. This may be cumulated on a multiplicative manner

vs. for a POS:

Mobile Laboratories have been overhauled
• Research Laboratories now have a 0.7 Material Efficiency and Time Efficiency time multiplier
• Design Laboratories now have a 0.6 copying time multiplier, and a 0.5 invention time multiplier
• Hyasyoda Laboratories now have a 0.65 Material Efficiency and Time Efficiency time multiplier

Assembly Arrays have been overhauled
• All assembly arrays now have a 2% material reduction to manufactured products (except for the Drug laboratory, Subsystem System Array, Rapid Equipment Assembly Array and Supercapital Assembly Array). Assembly Arrays will keep their 25% time reduction
• Advanced Assembly arrays no longer 10% have material waste. They now all have 2% material reduction like their regular counterparts
• Rapid Equipment Array material waste now is 5% instead of 20%

In sov nulsec systems, there is a 25% POS fuel reduction.

POS can compress ore and ice, which cannot be done at a station or outpost. POS Intensive Reprocessing Array is 54% for ore and ice.

All Outposts: 50%

Minmatar Outpost + Basic Reprocessing Upgrade: 54%
Intensive Reprocessing Array: 54%
Amarr / Caldari / Gallente Outpost + Intermediate Reprocessing Upgrade: 54%
Amarr / Caldari / Gallente Outpost + Basic Reprocessing Upgrade + 4% Reprocessing Implant: 54.08%

Minmatar Outpost + Basic Reprocessing Upgrade + 4% Reprocessing Implant: 56.16%
Intensive Reprocessing Array + 4% Reprocessing Implant: 56.16%
Amarr / Caldari / Gallente Outpost + Intermediate Reprocessing Upgrade + 4% Reprocessing Implant: 56.16%
