This is what I believe happened here.

This guy first posted this character & his Avatar w/fittings for sale here. He made multiple posts with a couple different characters that you can all link back to him. There is another thread around here that someone actually linked all his posting.

Sounds to me he bought this character with an Avatar on it for real life cash & was trying to get rid of it on the forums. Looks like someone noticed this on the forums. They probably eve-mailed him & told him they would buy the titan, just log it in after you tell me where to go. They ganked him because he didn't know any better since he RMT'd character & titan.

A GM of CCP really needs to do research into this character & follow some isk/IP/other characters trails. I think this is a blatant abuse of Eve Online's rule of RMT.
