I know that this isn't directly related to the OP, but you your title wasn't very specific. One thing I've noticed since the improved lighting was introd a few patches back (around the January time frame I think?) is that jaggies have become a lot worse. Almost every ship I've tried this on looks horrible in the new system. I have a GTX 670 running everything at max, so the likely hood of it being my system is not very high, but do you have any thoughts as to why things look so bad?

I dont know if this is a result of a bug or if its supposed to look like this:
http://gyazo.com/ecddc56b88455c3c70da5af6dc895a52 < screenshot

but i do quite like this new metallic chrome green sin more than the kinda meh purplish blue we have at the moment

And the new cloaking effect? 10/10

Cloak effect:
Finally, I can see my own ship, (more easily) while it is cloaked!

1. It would be nice to see a variation in the effect, for each cloak type.

2. It is very hard, if not impossible, to see your own cloaked ship when looking through it, into the Sun. Game design might not want to "fix" this... but storyline camera drones are already preventing me from going blind when looking at the sun... so... game design permitting, would it be possible to dynamically adjust the shader, when Camera -> Ship -> Sun?

I have found a few glitched ships and a major glitch with the cloak effect overall and will be posting a video demonstrating some of them.

First off, on Shader High I do not see HEX. The only way to get the HEX effect is to turn off Anti-Aliasing.

Second, Orhtrus and Stratios are broken visually in the hangar when you make them active. There are likely more ships than just these two.

Third, if you open up your map (and chances are NES as well) while the decloak animation is running, when you return to look at space, what ever was decloaked of your ship will be there, and the rest will be completely invisible.

are also broken, i bug reported them a few hours ago

and when you post this video please link it here, i need to see the last thing you mentioned because my attempts to replicate it have failed Xd

Hi everyone!

Oceanus, in it's infant stages, is now live on Singularity. As some of you have already discovered, we have some tasty new graphical effects for you!

 • New cloaking effect! This is currently a variable effect depending on your shader settings, but on High you will see an awesome, hex-based cloaking field spreading from a random point on your ship until you are fully engulfed, and invisible to third parties.

 • New wormhole effects! In addition to the classic nebulae visualisations that you could use to predict roughly in which region the wormhole exited, wormholes will now feature new visual clues as to the upper limit of mass that they can transmit as well as new distortion and ribbon effects.

 • A new LOD system! Instead of seeing ships pop-in at the appropriate detail level, they will be loaded with Low level of detail, then stream up to the appropriate level. This is very pertinent to the next point.

 • The Space Object Factory! This is a radical reworking of the way in which the client loads and handles objects in space, and is currently only in use for ships. More info to come in a Devblog soon.
 • What this means for you: If the Space Object Factory is working correctly, then you should see no aesthetic difference in any of the ships you fly. We have had to do some minor updates to certain ships, but this system will create uniformity in general across factions and significantly increase flexibility for adding anything that affects ships aesthetically.

If you see any green Apocalypses or red Brutixes then the system is not working correctly, so I'd like to ask people to be mindful of this and please submit a bug report.

The same goes for the other changes I've mentioned.

Hope you enjoy all this amazing new eye candy! We're really looking forwards to your feedback!

Sledge.

Nice job on making the hex grid for the cloak stay the same size no matter the amount of zoom. Thats a really nice effect.

Isn't that called infinite focus or am I thinking of something else?

Thank you for this tip! I wondered where the "Hex effect" was... but now that I see it live, I don't particularly like it or think it is necessary. I like the revised cloak effect well enough, without the additional "hex effect." (anti-aliasing on.)

The hex effect currently is a small repeating tiled texture, layering too much order on the chaos of optical distortion, that begins the cloaking effect. I very much like the more sedate, swirling chaos that I see without it.

I don't really understand the space object factory.

Does it increase performance? Or does it make "things" easier to handle on the technical side? Why should I care about it?

How will the "space object factory" feature, particularly the "streaming" aspect, interact with high lag/tidi conditions? Do you anticipate that it will reduce the lag/hiccup when entering an overloaded grid?

Excellent work on the new effects, the art team always knocks it out of the park!

Would assume tidi shouldn't have an effect on it because rendering on the client rather than on the server.

I'm not literally referring to the Ti-Di system, I referring to the types of fights that produce ti-di and once that maxes out at 10% the lag that sets in, you know, the ones with a 2-3k local.

A not infrequent problem during those large scale fights is client lockups/crashes, particularly when your fleet lands on a heavily populated grid, or when another large fleet warps onto an already overloaded grid. Presumably a "radical reworking of the way your client loads and handles objects in space" would be highly relevant to those issues.

CCP would need to hire a psychoanalyst to review applications for an EVE Forum Picture Posting License. Once approved, the applicant could move on to a more rigorous in-person interview, with a panel of concerned parents.

the animation speed should be faster, compare to the current cloak animation duration.

would be nice to see more of your own ships shape whilst cloaked .. it can help too know which way your ship is aligned too and just too see your ship in general would be nice

ESPECIALLY with falcons.

God this model is a mess, no wonder why they didn't pick the model for ATXIII rewards :D

It absolutely should not!

The TQ animation is way faster than the actual delay before dissapearing on the overview of others. This new animation, aside from being HOLY ******* COOL, is also more in-line with the gameplay behind cloaking.

Now the question is... What about the animations when you jump? (Downloading SISI now)

Not sure about that. Tidi even slows the animation of windows minimizing themselves into the Neocom Smile
