Anything that triggers aggression flagging, really. But again, ship loss isn't necessarily even part of the equation. You are still being PvPed in your mission, and CONCORD will not “ally with you” because no crime is being committed.

The other poster mentioned losing my ship. Since I don't pull aggression triggers, the only way that would happen is by him shooting me, in which case my CONCORD "allies" would arrive on the scene. If the mission rats weren't a joke, I guess he could find a way to pull all the triggers and have them primary me.

That's entirely on him.
I'm talking about how there is plenty of PvP in your mission. He went on to mention one version. That just leaves umpteen bazillion more.

One of my more amusing ways to PVP someone in a mission doesn't even involve flagging at all. In fact, if you shoot me, CONCORD will roll in and remove you. (HINT: it's not ninja salvaging).

Oh, do tell. Or at the very least, send it to me in a PM.

Well, I have a few ways to do it:

I'll either jump in the mission and start popping triggers, jump in, pop, and take the mission object, Or just jump in and start killing rats faster than the missioner can.

There are LOTS of mission runners who haven't learned the joys of blitzing yet, and they get REAL upset when you bounce in, "steal" every kill but the frigs, loot, salvage, and bop away.

Killing the mission object and legally taking the mish loot is fun too. That generates tons of frantic evemails, and "OMG sum dude just stole muh (object) for (mission) how I reset it??" pleas in help chat.

It's also a good way to make some bank, selling the mission item to the mission runner after you've claimed it. This can be done, of course, whether the item was taken legally or otherwise Twisted

one of my corpies found himself a rattlesnake that wouldn't agrees,
kept docking up and blowing raspberry's from the station,
so he poped all the triggers an orbited around the warp in for 10 minuets untill the entire pocket was ontop of it.

he saw the dude retun to the station in his podTwisted

When you are averaging 9 posts a page its maybe time to dial it back a bit. Certainly have your say, but there is a point where you are just approaching white noise.

Tippia wrote:
No, your adamant refusal to learn anything about the game is still very sad. What makes it sadder still is that you are trying to hand that wilful ignorance down to new players. Your continued and very explicit demonstrations of your ignorance are almost tear-inducing.

I've always considered this the issue - when something bad happens to a newbie or not-so-newbie, and they quit in frustration, whose the villain? The guy who committed the bad thing, or the person who didn't prepare the newbie for the possibility of the bad thing happening?

I am firmly a believer that it is the person who didn't prepare the newbie for EvE's reality. Assuming the "bad thing" was something completely within the rules of the game (which scamming, bumping, cap-flipping, ninja salvaging, mission looting, gate camping, afk cloaking, podding, wardecs, suicide ganking, and all form of ship explosions are), it is almost criminally negligent to allow a friend or aquaintance to float loose in the galaxy without arming him with the tools he needs to survive. Handing a newbie friend a couple of ships, a pile of isk, and nudging him off on his way is just setting him up to lose both in short order.

I have two close real-life friends who came in to the game after hearing my stories, and neither of them wanted to do the sorts of things I do (although they have a standing invite should they change their minds). One is a 24-hour mission bear, while the other is toiling away in industry and hauling. I haven't given an isk to either (well, I loaned some isk to one, on the understanding the very bad things I would do to him if he didn't return it!), but I made sure they knew the risks and pitfalls of their proffessions, and warning signs to watch out for. Both have lost ships in stupid ways (one to lack of awareness in a wardec, one to a suicide gank and an unfortunate lowsec autopilot route), but both brushed themselves off and were able to laugh about it, because the fact it happened wasn't a sudden shock that shattered their illusions of what they thought the game was.

Have you ever tried actually talking to the people war deccing you? Like, open a convo and ask for their TS and get on their for a chat?

Not to rage and complain and give tears. Instead something along the lines of "lol gg, didn't check local in time, i'm a newb can you give me some pvp tips in eve". Come at EVE players like that and it's like a magic spell that will make them sing like birds. You will learn the game very quickly this way.

Seriously, try it.

OMFG this just blew my mind. This makes sense - he's so cocksure and ignorant at the same time.

Can I just point out he's not very familiar with the game or good at it at all? I stole a corp name off him today, and would have stolen more if I had the alts for it but it was pretty easy to do.

I'd rather inflict 30-1 economic victories than steal corp names. I will leave it to others to decide who the victor is.

Which is exactly why you didn't know how gate guns and facpo work, right?

You're about as familiar with this game as my 3 year old is with particle physics. Not only does she know absolutely nothing about it, it is totally beyond her ability to comprehend.

And you have demonstrated that repeatedly.

And I just realized who you are. You are Divine Entervention's new alt.

And in other thread I'm a "CODE alt" apparently. I don't even know who "Divine Entervention" is. If you are going to accuse me og being an alt, at least make me someone famous like The Mittani or James 315.

And if they can't/won't respond optimally they deserve to lose their ship. Personally I just petition CCP to reset the mission if the mission object is stolen, which they seem happy to do.
