Classic trolls trying to get people to put something abstract into words and acting like they've won an argument.

A large beautiful world full of stories to jump into doesn't need a 'point' like some arcade game trying to get kids to beg mommy to help them feed it quarters. It attracts and holds those who are interested. It's bought for the merits and nature of what it is. No different from the 'point' of any movie or book.

Not at all.

It is just my general opinion of Bethesda and their games. I don't like them because as a developer, I think they do a very poor job at coding. I don't play their games because the games always follow a basic formula or template mechanics-wise that the game is then built around which only means that their games always will have the same flaws and fall to the same problems as the game before.

Yeah I say the same thing about Call of Duty so I can't really argue. Destruction was wimpy again, weapon selection was low again, bosses were slightly better but dragons weren't as awesome as you would think.

Still pure trolling to ask the 'point' of a game like that.

I read up to here before deciding to respond. If you want to rage quit a game go for it, if you want to rage quit a game simply because of the animations? Then don't complain about it to others. One of the best RTS games ever made is Starcraft, and it uses sprites. Such talk amongst the gaming crowd now a days is akin to heresy. But its a good game nonetheless. I can understand how bad animations can ruin a game for you, but you should understand that most games are only good when it comes to animation, they sacrifice everything else just to look nice. If animation was easy everyone would be a game designer.

My point is go ahead and rage quit, those of us who like a game for its content will just keep playing, while you can go enjoy another sight seeing tour trying to be a game.

Its funny how you twisted it, implying i got a thing with feet. I DONT HAVE A THING FOR DRAGONFEET. But as i mentined, i played the game on master with stick and board, studded hide armor, so when i got hit, i GOT hit. So noticed that everytime the dragon lifted its feet while pulling the head back, i needed to block. Everytime it didnt lift its feet and pulled back the head, shield bash, cause then the breath started.

Youre right, i will never say "ok, im wrong there was never anything wrong with the animations", because there is! The game is awsome storywise, BUT thats not all for a game like this! The games story and world is pointing towards fighting, and thats how you progress ingame, but if that one thing as fighting is broken, id say the game is broken, because ONE of the games main element is broken.

And hence my first statement remains true. You are in a point of thought that no matter what you are just reinforcing selectively what you KNOW (or believe to KNOW) to be true. As a Psychologist I find amusing somewhat that people sometimes post stuff just to reinforce their view and use all the replies as proof that what they say is the same no matter what. Thats why I used the examples mentioned before. You could be talking about how Earth is flat and me about how flat surfaces turn you on. When you deconstruct the original statement, I could be ad nauseam replying to you in an endless loop of you just narrowly entrenching yourself in your original statement despite anything that can be construed within.

Fact is If I want to keep deconstructing your OP, if EVERYONE agreed you would have lost any and all kinds of interest on it right away and would have jumped at another angle of Skyrim, it being the focus of your self serving need (which I cannot even begin to fathom or bother to theorize beyond basics) and perhaps we would see another topic on how the way you Swing swords is lame and the combat can be construed in how the npc animation swinging from the left obviously means you can parry with Left Ctrl all the time as you spam 1, then someone like me would say you are aroused by the act of spamming 1 and wish you well in all your future keyboards to be reinforced in key 1.

Just sayin'.

so TLDR:

Game is okish, you have an issue with it that only splashes to the world a personal neurotic quirk of no importance and we all be trollin'

OMG a Psychologist is in the thread, better listen to him. I like the way people use their title as a way to lift them above the crowd, because "they know something". I feel for you. Really dont care what you do in your RL but using your title to empower your viewpoint is very low, lol. And the way you used your skills to predict that im not gonna lay low on the animations, bravo, exept everyone making a forum thread with an opinion isnt likely to just change it.

This isnt a "hey look at me, i want attention" thread, its more like a thread that highlightens what Bethesda is failing at, again. And before they start fixing it, someone gonna say something. Im no gamedesigner (or whomever makes the animations), but i can use the examples of other games that in fact made some games where the animations werent the issue, and with that as a fact, i can easily say that Beth should opt their work in this department.

I went into Skyrim thinking "combat animations will suck big time again" and I was not disappointed in that regard. They did suck. But I still loved the game enough to spend 60+ hours on it so far and haven't even seen all the non-procedural questlines yet. And little touches like adding mannequins, weapon mounts, and bookshelves (!) to the main game made me very happy. I suppose it takes a certain acquired taste to enjoy arranging virtual books on virtual shelves in a singleplayer game, but it works for me so I got my €50's worth.... but then I took an arrow in the knee?

Bookshelves are bugged. Beware. They are like drink machines that eat your money, except the bookshelves eat books....

About 60H of playtime and halfway through the main quest. I must say I quite enjoyed the experience. The world is huge and just asks for a player exploring it. On the negative side the UI shows that it was developed with gamepads in mind and the number of CTD is quite annoying.

Comparing Skyrim to Dragon Age 2 is not exactly fair. DA2 has a huge main storyline, lots of dialogue and interesting characters. In Skyrim very few characters are worth remembering them, but the game does not drag you along it't main quest.

Both games are enjoyable, personally I just prefer an open world like Skyrim.

Notice the dragons legs when meelee attacking, when gaming (this will ruin your excitement when fighting a dragon), or this vid:

It looks like one of thoose plastic animal toys with legs only bendable at the hips-.-

And the killing animations, well to start with, they dont ever hit the target, when slitting a throat, u slit the air, when killing a dragon you sit on the air next to the dragon. And then the lacking of animations, its always the same, and it gets boring. And dont get me started at the flying animation of the dragon...

And the characters 3rd-person-looking-straight-forward-like-it-got-a-neck-strap-on, thing. It is hard to have an conversation in 3rd person without making it look silly.

Bethesda didnt spend enough time fixing the small things.

OP, still play Skyrim and I have a question for you; would you prefer to have a massive sandbox world that is Skyrim where you can anything you want, even if your character looks a little off in third person? Or would you prefer to have one where it is completely realistic movement, linear path that is five hours long, and then you get a small pat on the back and no new game plus or playing beyond the credits?
