Many of you caught it on the kill mail of the G0dfathers flagship and you are completely correct. This was an oversight of our referee team.

This hole has been plugged and this kind of oversight will not happen again.

For those that haven't seen it.

Imperial Navy Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane is not an allowed faction module on flagships.

Although it did die and so it can't be fielded again.

This was on us, not G0dfathers. But naturally they can't field their flagship again this tournament.

So breaking the fitting rules is alright as long as you only get caught after a match?

or as long as you manage to lose it in the process :D

seriously, their flag is dead and they lost the match so clearly it didn't help them at all. Let it be.

Now, either I'm having trouble picking up on Professor Clio's sarcasm here, or he's directly saying that people shouldn't be punished for breaking rules/laws as long as they don't benefit them in the end. Given that any sane and right-minded individual wouldn't say that, he must be being sarcastic.

G0dfathers knew what they were doing, and even if they made a mistake, it's still on them. It doesn't matter if you forgot drugs were in your car when you tried to cross the border, there were still drugs in your car. It's on G0dfathers more than CCP that this happened, and they should be punished appropriately, lest other teams see this as the opportunity to start sneaking modules/implants into their setups.

If the module was caught before the match, an appropriate punishment would be to remove the offending module from the ship, heal it to 50% health, and put the ship on field without any module in that lowslot.

Catching it after the fact is quite an awkward thing. CCP shouldn't shrug and say "oh well, they slipped one by us but they still lost the match so no harm". The problem is, I'm not sure there is an appropriate reprisal. They lost, they can't bring another flagship, and I don't think they attempted to cheat on purpose.

I thank CCP for acknowledging the breach and recommend they commit to:
1.) Prevent future breaches.
2.) Addressing future violations with harsh penalties for future breaches (example: removal of illegal modules AND healing to 50% health).
and
3.) Automatic loss if the offense is not addressed before the match starts.

While this is now a moot point, what if they had won that match by a very slim margin?

Stop whining everybody. The past is the past and G0dfathers wouldn't gone far at the tournament either way.

If it was PL or Hydra then the whining will be acceptable.

So you can get away with cheating as long as you aren't in one of the "big" teams?

Maybe they should not be allowed to have any flagships ever again (in future tournaments) either way, there needs to be an actual punishment handed out.
