playing versus the blob...

Hello,
i would like to have your opinion about which could be the best ship to use for engaging a blob. i explain better what i need:

going in 0.0 with a kiting ships in systems where people usually live in good numbers and play with them :)
so i need something fast, something that people want to engage also if they are not 200, something that can
wreck tacklers (lemmings) that come at you and leave (or try to leave), something no shiny cause i will go to
lose a lot of ships for fun. I will have links, and drugs (no fancy implants).

My ideas atm are:

The Vexor Navy Issue PODLA style with 100mn AB, but what i dont like are drones, that are easily killable by also a not good pilot.
For the RLML ships, i really hate the long period to wait for reloading.
Scythe Fleet issue could be interesting, and SFI also.

Any interesting idea?

There are a lot of good options for this but since you are obviously pretty new to the whole thing I would suggest a Heretic, its fairly effective, scales excellently with links and is cheap and engageble.

Why u think im so new? this could be obviously an alt :) btw any advice for a fit? im EFTing too, just for have a starting point. Atm only heretic i use have a cyno and cloak :)

EDIT: btw i dunno if a interdictor have the tank to play against multiple tacklers. for this reason i was oriented with cruiser hulls.

General rule: be able to quickly kill anything that can catch you - be faster than anything you can't kill quickly. Against a disciplined fleet you'll need some damage projection to annoy and provoke them.

Navy cruisers are a nice pick imho. Nomen, Fleet Scythe, Nosprey (RLMLs are manageable).

You want fast ships that can hit cepters, AF, and dictors and kill them quickly. Vaga, stabber are good for this. Forget about trying to kill fleet line ships as you wont be able to alpha past the logi.

Well the fact that you haven't done your own research and are asking on one of the worst forums for actual good advice on ship fittings would suggest to me your new yes.

Heretic has a fairly decent tank, plenty for separating tackle and the like.

Friends.

Anyway, if something was implemented to counter blobs, it would just be used to form bigger blobs of blob killers.

So true
Oracle with tacs alpha stuff and run like hell buble the gate and sit
Shoot anything that shows up

The only major drawback is the crazed notion that the inventory would look so much better if merely rearranged ONE MORE TIME.

Seems last posts showed that i explained not well what i wanna do.

i dont want to camp a gate, cause its more simple with a sabre and a scout...
i want something FAST for roaming in 0.0 and go in station systems with lot of ppl
warping at range at station and begin harrass residents. Kill maybe tacklers
that come at me, and run when they form up too many big numbers.

nothing static putting bubbles to drag/stop people. Atm orthrus RLML seems
the top notch for kiting and kill tacklers, but i would like to have any suggestions
(the heretic one was interesting)...

Sure is a good choice.
I still like the cyna for frigate and destroyers sized ships in 0.0

XLASB + LSE w/ 220 vagabond is quite good at killing tackle. Ive been experimenting with 720 muninn with reasonable success, though you need to be on your game in keeping good transversal, or warping if they get too close. it is good fun 1 shotting tackle, and watching the rest of them, scatter like roaches. Large lock range and titanium sabot is your friend, use quake when they get close. Plus the muninn isnt super slow anymore. 2k cold and 3k OH with only zors/nano. I have a fed navy web and medium neut to keep tackle away. Fly with no point, you will alpha **** 75% of the time, way outside of point range anyway.

If youre curious on the fit

x5 720s
Medium neut

Tech 2 LSE
web (fed web is good investment)
Mwd

x2 gyro and TE
DCU
nano

MACR
Kinetic resist rig

475 dps w/ 3k volleys
like 18k EHP (beware of garmurs, dont get pointed)

Probably too expensive for what OP is looking for, but im enjoying it at the moment. Though im mostly a dedicated minny pilot, and am running out of ships that i havent flown yet.

Have you considered a T3?

In budget?

Being able to nullify the effect of bubbles when going through hostile null seems like the way to go if you want cruiser size ship.

Medium Autocannons seem to be your best bet... Stabber/SFI/Vagabond/Cynabal can all be devastating for this if flown right. A Thorax fit with 200mm Railguns, shield tank, and speed/tracking/damage mods in the lows can also do this pretty well. Most frigates won't engage the Caracal/Cerberus because they're almost always fit with RLMLs. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies,
the thread is becoming interesting...

The 720 muninn i will give a shot... i was looking for a 720 cynabal, but im always scared about the tracking problems. For the T3 choice its also problem that when u lose the ships u will lose also the SP. And i dont want to pimp too much the ship. i really want to have fun without extremeness.

SFI (stabber | scythe) i like a lot, orthrus is too much "standard" and people tend to avoid u, because or RLML...

so atm i can try:

- Heretic
- Muninn
- stabber/scythe FI (working on the fits).

Could also trying gimping yourself to draw them in like an Osprey Navy or battle T1 logis

+1 for vagabond, cynabel, and orthus. Stabber if you want cheap. Can easily fit vaga's to do 3km/s without links, implants, or overheating (or gimping yourself overmuch). It's not a high dps ship but sufficient enough to kill tacklers unless you let them get on top of you.

Arty versions of these will have a bad problem if an AC version shows up and they're faster.
