A way to make at ships avaible to all players

What do you think? are these ships primary made to be rare and that almost no one uses them in combat, be it pvp or pve? From the newer ships, there are just around 50 in the game, from the older ones, such as the freki or utu, they may not exist anymore in game, because all of them were destroyed. AND, if you enter hi-sec space with these ships, you will not live long, because evry one wants a killmail of such a rare ship.

My idea: introduce a new type of sites, called (pirate faction) wormhole research site, that spawns in wormholes. These sites require relic analyzers to hack the research station and to get these BPCs. These sites have a similar spawn rate as ghost sites and only spawn in wormholes, nowhere else in game.

These sites are protected by a new type of npcs, similar to the new burner npc. They will not attack as long as you dont shoot them or not try to hack the station. The station has a small chance to contain a one run bpc of an alliance tournament ship, wich was introduced during the last alliance tournaments. 12 currently exists in game, but I think, that it could also need battleship sized ships of them.

Another problem: these ships are unbalanced, for example the older at ships requiring the assault ships skills, but they dont get bonuses from them. They just have the bonuses from the racical frigate/cruiser skill and some, mostly useless role bonuses (I mean, a 25% to velocity can also get directly added to the stats). And the caldari just have one combat at ship, the cambion. The Etana as a RR ship is not really useful, as it just has about 7% more range than the ballistic and has only one logistic ship skill bonus, this means, the ballistik is better.

Here a list of the current ships and its roles, including the new ones:

Gallente: Utu(AF), Adrestia(HAC) and Crius(Marauder) - have huge hybrid damage bonuses, bonuses to range and falloff and big drone bays.

Minmatar: Freki(AF), Mimir(HAC) and Karma(Marauder) - have huge projectile damage bonuses, big bonuses falloff and range of projectile turrets and shield boost bonuses.

Amarr: Malice(AF), Vangel(HAC) and Cardinal(Marauder) - laser focused ships, bonuses range and tracking of lasers, low dronebays and bonuses to armor repairers.

Caldari: Cambion(AF), Etana(turns into a HAC) and Pirania(Marauder), missile focused, with huge range and damage application, low velocity and very big cargoholds

Guristas: Wipthail(Inty), Chameleon(Recon) and Aligator(Black Ops), have missile kinetic and thermic damage bonus, huge drone damage bonuses and focused shield tankers.

Angel: Chremaos(Covops), Moracha(Recon) and Triton(Black Ops), giant projectile damage bonuses, up to 200% falloff bonus and up to 100km web range

The ships in bold are the new Battleships. In the market, all AT ships will no longer appear in the special edition ships section, they can be found under "deadspace ships". They will also be tagged like a deadspace module (blue + on the icon)

Hulls that the new ships use:

the marauders use the same hulls as the normal marauders. Hacs and Afs remain unchanged.

The aligator uses the raven hull
The triton uses the machariel hull

Here an example of one new marauder and one new black ops:

Cardinal:

Role Bonus: 100% to large energy turret damage
80% reduction to bastion module duration

Amarr battleship Bonus:
5% to large energy turret damage
10% to large energy turret optimal range

Marauders Bonus:
7.5% to armor repair amount
7.5% to large energy turret tracking speed

Slot layout: 7H, 5M, 8L; 5 turrets, 0 launchers
Fittings: 18000 PWG, 800 CPU
Defense (shields / armor / hull) : 12000 / 16000 / 14000
Capacitor (amount) : 8000
Mobility (max velocity / agility / mass / align time): 110 / / 975000000 / 16s
Drones (bandwidth / bay): 25 / 75
Targeting (max targeting range / Scan Resolution / Max Locked targets): 100km / 120 / 12
Sensor strength: 20
Signature radius: 350
Cargo Capacity: 1600

Aligator:

Role Bonus: 375% bonus to heavy and sentry drone damage

caldari battleship bonus:
20% to kinetic and thermic missile damage

Gallente battleship Bonus:
4% to shield resisteance

Black ops skill bonus:
125% to velocity when cloaked
7.5% to drone optimal range and tracking

Slot layout: 6H, 7M, 7L; 4 turrets, 0 launchers
Fittings: 15000 PWG, 1000 CPU
Defense (shields / armor / hull) : 19200 / 15400 / 17000
Capacitor (amount) : 6400
Mobility (max velocity / agility / mass / align time): 89 / / 107500000 / 15s
Drones (bandwidth / bay): 50 / 250
Targeting (max targeting range / Scan Resolution / Max Locked targets): 200km / 100 / 8
Sensor strength: 40
Signature radius: 400
Cargo Capacity: 800

The above listed ships are just two EXAMPLES. However, the older AT ships still needs a complete overhaul, for example the mimir has extremly low targeting range and the vangel has almost infinite cap with 3k cap and 280s recharge time Without skills.

Let me know, what you think, because these ships werent itroduced to get awarded as a price and then land somewhere in an NPC station in nullsec and remain there for ever.

i'm REALY miss the old stuff.

I do not under any circumstances want to have to face off against Whiptails and Chameleons in lowsec. The Whiptail is everything that made the Crow OP combined with the Worm's obscene damage output. The Chameleon is literally a Gila, but with a COVOPS CLOAK, and heavy ECM capabilities. ie. Broken.

AT ships are way to overpowered (on purpose) to make them accessible for everyone. Would also not be fair towards the collectors in eve who investet a really big ammount of isk into these ships, isn't it?

If you want one, get a team and suscribe for the next Tournament. Or grind a huge amount of isk. Or just choose one of the other 250 ships in the game which are not that rare.

You should stop ship toasting.

I agree with the just say NO.
These ships were intended to be collectors items given to those who participated in a special event, in other words they are trophies to give everyone in EVE a chance to have one is just wrong in every possible way.

Looking at another aspect of the original post why limit them to worm holes. If you are going to make this type of thing available then to be fair you need to make it available to all players in EVE so that means these sites would have to spawn in nul, low and high sec as well.

Win an AT....do what you want with the ship.

Or make the isk to buy one off a current owner...and do what you want with it.

Kind of missing the point of a "trophy" dude. Sort of like the say stanley cup. I am sure it holds a lot of the drink of choice you like.....you wouldn't necessarily want to walk around a house party drinking from it though.

There is already a way to make them accessible to everyone.

Jita. Go buy one if you want it that badly.

If you want to fly AT ships go play on sisi.

Try flying a vangel vs basically any other ship and tell me if you think AT ships are balanced.

EvE-Mail me if you need anything.

I wish they'd put the old AT ships back on SiSi. A random shuffle every mirror would be pretty awesome. However, under no circumstances should they be seeded on the main server.

It actually has incredibly restrictive power grid issues.

As long as the sites only spawn in the exact rate of loss of the ships

So 50 ships at all time, if someone goes inactive with them all, tough luck getting them

That would make it fair, the new ones also receive the remodel name tag confirming they are 2nd gen and not the orginal far more valuable AT prizes

What she said Big smile

And I wouldn't mind being able to sit in one of those on SiSi with the 'tiny' restriction to only put them in the secondary combat system (PV-H80) and they explode when jumping out of the system.

I wonder why nobody pointed out how the OP seems to miss the point of the Etana by a mile and a half...

Also, no, it's a terrible idea on too many fronts.

This is not a good idea. In fact I would go so far as to say that this is a really bad idea.

Alliance Tournament ships are supposed to be especial one offs and overpowered. Usefully overpowered if you really really want to risk your one of a kind tournament ship, but not for general production/use/consumption.
