Ex pirate to Logi/support type

Hi all,

I used to be a solo pvp'er/pirate in my previous eve life. So I'm thinking of trying something very different.

Being a logi/support toon. The new T1 logi/support(ewar) frigs/cruisers seem very interesting and I'd like to get a handle on them and if they are used in small gang type combat?

I don't particularly want to go into big fleet stuff (To me a big fleet is somewhere 20+) but like the idea of small gang, special forces style, with a logi frig in tow to help bump up the stability or ewar as a force multiplier.

So people of W&T does this happen or is it just the realm of larger fleet fights with cap/logi chains etc?

Thanks in advance for any insights.

Cheers o7

Based on my admittedly brief FW experience, it happens plenty. Griffins/Frig logi is very useful in small fleets. Perhaps EWAR even more so than logi since things die so fast, but that's personal opinion.

The problem with EWAR, specifically the griffin and other ECM variants is they deter fights from actually happening. Noone wants to engage that **** or deal with it. There are ways around this ofc like staying docked up, being off grid, or a jump behind ect. Not to say fights dont happen with ECM/EWAR but it does make the other side cautious. Other than that it is fun as hell to fly Ewar and logi. You are a force multiplier in that you can contribute more to the fleet than any other ship.

Pras Phil.

Yeah in my time as a solo pirate/pvp'er I would usually try to avoid small gangs that had ewar/logi with them but some times I'd see if I could get a couple of them before the ewar shut me down. It was a challenge.

When I was in small gangs I always fancied being a support pilot with ewar or logi to allow us to take on bigger/badder fish rather than being just another source of DPS. It seems like it is more normal now with the newer class of logi/disruption ships.

Not saying I won't go out and pirate solo now but I think my focus will shift more to being a support/ewar for a gang nowadays Lol
