[Idea] [Chat Windows] MOTD - Should always stay at the top of chat windows!

Hey,

MOTD = Message of the day (For people that don't know)

A MOTD should never clip off the end of a chat windows message queue, they should move up to the end of a chat queue and stay after the last message that gets clipped off the end of the queue each time. So that they can always be found easily, this can become a issue when you have many different channels that move really fast and sometimes missing MOTD's can cause a lot of confusion. Always having them easily accessible without leaving a channel/fleet and rejoining just to see the messages again.

A crude depiction of how it should look

i have often thought this would be useful, but was imagining something more like a right click menu that could reprint he MOTD by way of a popup text box or inside the chat window, just on your local machine

Yea I was thinking the same thing, or even hovering mouse of the "Tab" for that chat and having the MOTD pop up. BUt this way is simple and easy, no matter how much lines of chat there are in a window, MOTD should always be at the top, seems simple and efficient enough.

Once I tried typing in '/motd' into a chat channel too, it didn't do what I was hoping it would, lol.

Supported, in some form, it would be nice to be able to recover the MoTD without leaving+rejoining the channel.

Which is why my alternate suggestion was for a separate popup window... this feature has many ways it could be succesfully implemented

I don't think you understand the concept. There is a chat queue, that is how the chat system works. The MOTD will go after the end of the chat queue. Meaning how ever long or short the chat queue is, even is chat messages are being clipped off the top, the MOTD will stay at the very top of the chat box. I don't think you even know what it is you are trying to say.

I don't mean that it needs to stay at the top of the window - It will be at the top of the chat. I.E you scroll all the way up to the top of the chat, and the last thing in the chat queue no matter what will always be the MOTD.
