No, honestly willing to help. Funny how so many people ***** about w-space dying, then when a dude asks for help moving in everyone who is bitching laughs at him. Lots of people helped me out along the way, so as my one good deed for the decade I am willing to return the favor.

I blame this assumption on Sith's recruit spamming.

Yo OP I totally got you. I'll provide PvP support while you mine and rat for 25% of what you make. Convo me in game if you're keen. I'll get you a hole too.

To further Clarify to the community,

1. I personally have about a year of experience in wormhole diving but most of my corp has no wspace experience at all
2. While my corp has numbers it is not willing to commit to the campaign of driving someone out of their home hole at this time
3. I am not asking for complete safety, no such thing exists in wspace. I am asking for amnesty from the corp/allaince who helps us set up shop simply because they will know our location.
4. I am not asking for protection from all of wspace.
5. We are not looking to move into a WH per se, more like we wish to create a FOB (forward operating base for those without military experience) in one. Which is why spending the assets neccessary to push someone out of their hole is not desirable by the rest of NCM's Board.

My thanks to all of you who have attempted to be constructive and professional,

Nemo

1) Start training your corp by getting them diving into wormholes and experiencing the mechanics. And I don't just mean farming the combat sites, I mean actively hunting targets. Once you have a handful of people who are comfortable with hunting and being hunted in W-space, then you're ready to set up a tower. The remaining W-space mechanics you'll quickly become acquainted with. Note: always leave a scout in the hole if you want to make sure you can get back.

3) Most of the more established corps can be trusted to keep their word, but again, you should live with the expectation that there are a dozen or more scouts in your system, cloaked or logged off. What protects you in W-space isn't secrecy, because that's impossible to verify and maintain.

What protects you is you: your crew not doing utterly stupid things; not logging off at the first sight of a new sig appearing in system; having some kills next to your name; making absolute certain that you keep your word when you give it. That last one can't be stressed enough: there are few reasons to burn systems to the ground because it just sucks so much, but backstabbing is one very good way to ensure you'll lose a lot of assets and be looking for a new home, perhaps for years.

4) Same as #3 really. You protect you. Hire mercs when you can't. You make friends by shooting them in W-space and then talking to them afterward. If you prove yourself competent, they may even call on you when they want a little more help. It's a concept called "frenemies", and is apparently completely unheard of anywhere else in EVE. You shoot each other one day, and fleet up together the next. Sometimes you're shooting each other and then in the same fleet 5 minutes later, 100% confident that there will be no backstabbing.

5) This is where you point out that you don't understand how W-space works. You don't establish any sort of forward base, or beachhead, or garrison outpost. Those kinds of things are appropriate when you have static borders, fixed paths of entry, known points of contention. It's a Nullsec/Sov thing, not a W-space thing. Here, you establish a home (temporary or permanent), or you daytrip, or you go full nomad.

There are no permanent connections. The wormhole in Amarr today that leads to (or comes from, there is a difference) that C3 system with those 100 combat sites will be gone tomorrow. Tomorrow, that C3 may open up into Solitude.

It sounds like you want to set up a PvE farming operation in W-space under the protection of someone else. It doesn't quite work like that here. Either you take what you want and you defend it, or you don't have or keep anything.

What you appear to want is called "Renting", and they do that kind of thing in Nullsec all the time. That's where your apparent request would be more appropriate. Unlike W-space, your Nullsec overlords actually have a chance to defend you, and have a monetary incentive to do so.

I appreciate all of the posts on this thread. I have lived in NPC null for the majority of my EVE life and it is interesting to get a different perspective on things. I must admit there is more I must learn about this than I initially anticipated. I have never had to construct or manage a POS before (though I have defended/destroyed them on occassion) and it seems that learning how to build/maintain a POS is going to be my largest hurdle in this endeavor.

Thank you all for your time in this, it means a lot to me.

That being said does anyone have any POS setup suggestions for lower class holes and or is it plausible/does anyone set use POS's in wspace for industry purposes?

Thanks

I don't get the issue either. All the guy needs is a temp blue status with someone willing to camp his entry, and not act with hostilities upon the information granted deliberately afterwards. Sounds like you need some trustworthy mercs. The fact he's been out of the game for so long is the real issue at hand, as he probably doesn't have the active contacts to hire a trusted party. There are lots of people interested in the prospect of pure kills, getting paid to sit on a grid where pew might happen is preferred to PVE in lots of cases.
