Threads on these forums and on outside web sites have been reporting quite a bit on CCP employees leaving for other companies. There was also a lot of talk regarding the whole "World of Darkness" fiasco.

Granted, I would have liked to seen WOD come to fruition and I would agree that it is possible that CCP completely bungled that whole deal.

However, it seems like they are turning their focus on what they know how to do well, that is internet spaceships. Valkyrie is probably going to be super ******* awesome and one of the first games for Occulus Rift, Legion is going to get a lot of players instantly. Frankly I think the PC crowd will hold much more interest in the dynamics of that game than the console crowd which is already playing Halo 8 or whatever.

They also seem to be turning focus on to Eve more now with the departure of WOD. Someone made a thread about Eve 2.0 the other day, which is ridiculous; we are already on roughly Eve 5.0. This has to be the most updated and constantly improved game ever made with much of that improvement and expansion based on player input.

Lastly, there is no competition for this game. There have been few games since the original Starcraft that have taken different races and had them pvp and found balance. Think of the incredible variety in this game (I know the Ishtar is a bit powerful right now). But just about every ship in this game is flown. Both combat and non combat ships. The market is freaking amazing and this is the only game where you can scam other players out of everything they own or ruthlessly hell camp others and it is perfectly fine. CCP is staying as true to the sandbox idea as they can and have told us they plan on making it as close to a pure sandbox as they can in the next 10 years by making everything destroy able/ownable.

They would have made a profit this year if not for the WOD write off. CCP has cut the fat off and is concentrating on its strengths. I have nothing but good feelings for the future of the company and this game. Anyone else?

I have recently (6 months ago) returned from a 2 year hiatus. There have been some nice changes since I left in 2011 that have added depth but not taken away from the core of the game. I am very happy that I am now here playing during the little fixes/rebalances that should have been done in 2010/2011 instead of that walking in stations rubbish.

A solid 8/10 for me.

Good, but always room for whining.

Eve is great and the only game I give a damn about, but god damn does CCP move slowly on somethings. Luckily the players drive most of the content so at least we have that going for us.

Well, you are wrong.

CCP have been generally doing a cackhanded job for a long time now.

To paraphrase Ben Crowshaw: And if you think [CCP are doing a good job], you're wrong. It's like saying you enjoyed listening to someone singing completely out of tune or reading a book whose pages are completely covered in brown sauce. I know it's your opinion, but your opinion is just wrong.

Because the Legacy Code has too much Psssssssssssssssh, nothing will ever get fixed until CCP stop wasting money on failed sparkle MMOs and instead rewrite the entire backend of EvE from scratch.

I'm the kinda person who puts things in as many perspectives as possible before reaching a conclusion. When it comes to CCP, compared to other game developers for example, they're 10/10 for me, with Bungie following close behind them in my book. AS a developer and not compared to anything, I'd only give them a 9, and as with Scipio, they get an 8 for their work on EVE, but only because there is always room for improvement because once again, from the perspective of comparing them with other developers, they get a 10 for EVE.

Speaking of other developers... I know this is a major digression and almost a derailment but does anyone remember X Rebirth and Steam's refusal to refund customers? Well, it bit them on the arse recently. Australian Consumer Protection law forbids the outright refusal of refunds to customers. Rebirth was the trigger.

For me, personally, as someone that pre-ordered Rebirth expecting better, much better, this is quite the piece of poetic and restorative justice. Especially so given that although my initial request for a refund was polite and professional on every level, my response to their refusal warned them of exactly this taking place, and when I saw this news I did regain some faith in humanity, particularly Australian humanity which, as of late, has been waning a little.

I'm not actually part of the lawsuit, and I'll probably not try to find out how to be, I'm satisfied that the issue is being taken care of. It would have been nice to get my money back, but in the grand scheme of things, it's only $50 - I've wasted more on less. At the very least, maybe it'll force Valve to rethink their consumer-ignorant policies and perhaps instigate a little quality control over what goes up on Steam.

Anyway, like I said, I know this is a digression, but it's also related. You look at the **** that other companies like EA and Valve and Egosoft try to pull on us sometimes, and CCP in comparison is a breath of seriously fresh air.

You just offered an opinion of your own, and used it as the citation to declare someone else's opinion wrong.

I don't think you know how figuring out what's right or wrong works. Do you spray the sky with vinegar by any chance? You know... because chemtrails? It genuinely wouldn't surprise me.

I would have given CCP an 8/10 if it wasn't for this latest fiasco with w-space and how its denizens were treated. Being blatantly ignored tends to leave a deep wound within a player demographic that will fester for a long time.

CCP ignore me please, I make too much sense.

Can you provide some links (articles preferably) on how the recent change to W-space is a fiasco? I must of missed it.

He is most likely talking about the WB spawn range ...
... and how the players complained about it.

Most likely you need to check F&I and the TestServer Feedback forums for that.

Can't comment on w-space, but developers who always do what the players (think they) want are bad developers.
