5 days before the servers go dark.

By the time CCP gets sold,EVE will already be on it's way to the grave and selling will be Hillmar trying to get some of his eggs out of the falling basket. If EA buys it, it will be for 2 reason. 1- Get the IP for potential future games. 2- Try to pull it out of the hole with investment few company beside EA are able to dump in a game. Most likely number 1.

Purchase a $5 DLC pack to complete your jump to Jita.

AK-47 wood grain Anshar is coming to get j00.

$5 to get the teabag taunt for CQ, as an added bonus get a second nut for your Thorax.
$5 to turn your Ark into a Kirov from C&C, as an added bonus get tesla coil nipple clamps for the missus.

I welcome our EA overlords.

Edit: You know when the Ark Kirov Edition undocks it says Kirov Reporting.

People are used to the Eve-model of failcascade. RL company is not Eve-O.

That being said, things need to change. Real effort needs to be put forth to fix the major underlying issues with CCP or it will fail.

Note I have said CCP and not Eve-O.

I'm really interested in CCP's employment woes. Anyone know anything about their cubicle situation?

Honestly, I don't think CCP will be bought by EA anytime soon or ever. Frankly Westwood was absorbed because EA wanted Command and conquer. Once they had that they killed EnB. The only IP that could maybe entice EA is WoD. I doubt eve has the traction to base other games on if eve and the like was killed. Until you see valk and legion launched and how they fair that's when you should worry.

EA would never buy CCP, Icelandtic government would never allow it and I'm sure the Volcanoes of Iceland would destroy the world in retribution and the Vikings would come back from the dead and raid all of Europe in anger.

Why Can't I have a picture signature.

Also please support graphical immersion, bring back the art that brought people to EvE online originaly.

I sure hope this nursery rhyme is not apt :

Edit:

Joking apart, Eve Online will do fine so long as CCP never lose sight of the fact that it is us, the 'spaceship' core players who keep them in business and that anything else, Valkyrie etc is and must remain secondary to the spaceship game.

This is not a signature.

How much longer can you kids ignore the facts?

You can't keep losing players at the rate CCP is. Player numbers down to 2008 levels, does anyone really believe there isn't a problem? Oops

I came back on a plex to give my toys away to deserving friends. They may as well have a little fun before they have to find another game.

The biggest obstacle for CCP to overcome during its 'second decade' will be CCP itself and its lack of focus (EVE, Dust 514, Legion, Valkyrie, WoD) or willpower to finish what they start (ambulation, PI, relevant interaction between Dust and EVE, again WoD).

CCP needs decisive leadership, a unified vision for the future, goals that can be achieved with the skills they have at their disposal, an awareness of skills they don't possess, a strict time schedule in which to achieve milestones, competent responsible managers that know how to motivate a team, ...

All of the aforementioned will be prerequisites for EVE to make it into its third decade.

And you show why the internet makes people stupid.

All that shows is less people logging in at the same time, that proves nothing about subscriptions and the like. For example, I can easily set a month skill on my three accounts, and either hardly touch eve or not log on at all and still pay a sub during that time. eve-offline will show -3 people for the month. Does that mean my account is unsubbed? no it doesn't.

In addition, ccp released there finances for the first 6 months, if you ignore the issue about WoD closing, ccp lost around 200k (off the top of my head) if you break that down to its simplest form 200k/6 month = ~$33333.33 / 15 = 2,222 so they are down 2,222 subscriptions. 500k(last year)-2k is nothing.

The issue however, is it could be more. As we do not know what % of the total game revenue is subscription and what % is dust/plex/whatever. Nor do we know if sony pays CCP on the back end. I.e. at the end of the year they get a lump sum from sony for all the AUR sales.

Plus, you had this thing going on in dust after the Rouge Wedding where people were demanding refunds. So depending on if and how much sony refunded that also could of impacted that as well. Based on raw numbers, CCP has barley lost anyone.

Granted they could be down on TQ but way up in plex and other sales, or way up in china. But as I can only prove ccp lost about 2k players in 6 months... shrugs

One more piece to note, while the average players online are down to 2008 levels, if you look at the daily numbers they are hitting near 40k every day, and some, on the 24th for example topped out at 42k, which is 12k more then the average. So again, this doesn't really show anything

You can spin it anyway you want son, but the reality is, average players is the only metric we really have to measure game success/failure. You really think average player numbers have dropped, and more people are subscribed? Oops

CCP is a private company, they can make it look however they want to make themselves look better. But keep believing....Lots of people believe in fairy tales....
