Second go at this.

I can not be the only one who thinks this would be a great feature, helpful and convenient. There already is a feature in the form of Corporation Hanger Divisions so why not be able to keep your personal hanger a bit more tidy.

Yes? No? Why not? just let me know what you think...

+1 with a rocket. You are not alone.

I frequently think to myself, "why don't these things have a separate ammo locker".

In general, it just gets very frustrating when you carry a few things with you, say an MTU, ammo (maybe more than one kind), perhaps a spare set of probes... whatever. Then every time I need to dump salvage, or I use this ship to run and buy a few things for spares or building a new fit... I've got to painstakingly sort through and be careful not to drop off something that needs to stay on my ship.

Partitioning, or at least some way to "lock" an item so yu can't drag it out of the hold even.... Yes please!

I would love this to death. I do everything right now with cans, but have way too many of them for all the different separations I use.

Even if it were something that had a fee, be it for a limited number or able to "rent" more as you need, I would absolutely love this. Add in the ability to move ships into these personal divisions (letting you separate PvP ships from haulers from EWAR and Logi) would be absolutely awesome.

Station containers seem a bit arbitrary. They're cheap and the hardest part about acquiring one is having one for sale in your station. Ultimately this means that you either make one in station yourself or haul one from a nearby station if you can't find one for sale locally.

It's time to do away with all that hassle and just let us manage our own inventory without the need for extra items.

I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE...

I am a natural slob so i have ti FORCE order on my self and i am religiously organised in my staging system cans for mid slots cans for low slots cans for EVERYTHING... And i will be forever vexxed that i cannot put my can for Light drones in some sort of area for "DRONES" to even further organise all the stuff... Hell if theres some kind of horrible legacy coding BS where making this a thing would break Sov, posses and remove chribbas dread from highsec (check the name drop:P) could we atleast get some cans that arent flagged as "plank generators" so i can have a box to store mobile depots in? They do stand out if you try as hard as me to be organized...

Now if only i could keep my IRL workshop as clean as that... .

Not trying to diminish this topic any (I seriously want personal hangar divisions), but at least personally, I've found that Enormous Freight Containers are much more manageable than Station Containers. They're a quarter the size (both packaged and storage space), but I've never run into an issue with the lower storage space for each excepting for ships (and I suppose miners would have issues with Ore). At 1/4 the packaged size, though, they're much easier to cartage around, and you can get more than two or three of them in a single trip.

Giving this a last up before it is lost in the sea of posts.

Yes! How many releases, how many years, do we have to go through before this basic bug has been fixed?! And yes, it is a bug. A brainless design decision that made sense 50 years ago when computing power was measure in kilohertz and you inputted your data with punch-cards. Today, a linear organization or items is completely laughable, and the single layer of Freight Containers 'solution' just makes my eyes roll. You gotta be joking, right? ... And the devs stare at you blankly and reply, 'no.' LOL

Allow people to create a multilayer, hierarchical organization within their hangars! And, no, this is not a 'feature' to be paid for. It is basic functionality that makes the devs look ridiculous because it was not present on day-one.

Fix it today.

I would still love to see this. I already have a few cans set up, and I'm contemplating potentially adding a few more (such as dividing the drones from the ammo / charges / drones can): http://puu.sh/c2B0y/d631f2930d.jpg

Having personal hangars would at least help sort things a bit more with collapsible menus (as corporate hangars are).
