In my opinion having 3 people attending the very first initial group meeting is very good. With a little bit of time and patience, the attendance amount can easily be increased just by sending out monthly reminder messages to those who live in the general area.

EVE interactions are completely backwards compared to the normal irl process. here, your sense of the person is pure personality, and then you reconcile your other assumptions based on appearance (possibly voice comms in between) with the important things that you know about them (the absolute value of my interactions with them tells me I am grateful for their existence in the world, etc.)

otherwise, these people would pass me over in public, and I would them.

I would have to say, meeting up with eve players without having an experience or at least an opinion of them in-game is a very big oversight.

Elizabeth Norn I am so kicking myself for not going this week! (I've been once. the traffic and the drive is a bit much to do consistently. but for you...)

I agree with Rain6637 and would like to add this :

Don't judge or give up on going to Eve Meet's because of that experience. I've had good times and met a lot of cool people at various Eve Meet's I've attended.

Anyway, I sent a message to the Event Host (Jet Burns) and haven't received a reply yet. I hope everything is all right with him.

I'm very grateful to Hideyoshi for putting this together. It's an amazing group of people.

This meet happens every month, and I make my strongest recommendation that players attend. It is the EVE meet to make time for.

I'm going to risk sounding weird by saying this meetup continues to have a profound effect on me.
