Hi,

Aside from the stream of news from Eve news 24, what are your sources to get a good picture of the relationships and major events going on between alliances?

I know of this daily updated map
http://go-dl1.eve-files.com/media/corp/Verite/influence.png

But this is far from telling me if 2 alliances are fighting or if 'moves along the borders' are perceived, etc. I would like to know more about what makes the universe goes round by knowing what the big corps or alliances are up to (what the public knowledge knows at least, which is quite enough for me right now).

always counter en24 with a big dose of the mattini, both are heavily biased but where they overlap tends to have some semblance of truth.

Yeah, eve "news" sights are good for a laugh every once in a while but you can't really believe anything you read.

The Mittani's blogsite is the best site for news. Usually intelligent viewpoints there and they generally appear to be unbiased.

Those are the two I read, the latter one being more well-written.

This is something I would eventually like to do too once I get more into that aspect of the game.

I float in and out of interest with the big null entity's,
my interest was piqued a while ago when our alliance war decked the goon, northern associates and test but we had minimal interaction with them so i lost interest again.
im curious to see if the industry changes have an effect on null but beyond that im fairly "meh" about it.

for those interested we are discussing these websites:

So I gather there is no (as factual as possible) map showing war assets or operations. Sovereignty change is the max infos you can get easily from the sites (plus a stream of news from the 2 sites you name). That's difficult to get a big picture easily.

Op, you are not going to find real time alliance/coalition vs. alliance/coalition information available to the general public. That information is kept as quiet as possible (trade mark)

The major null sec entities have spies in all the other entities, so there are no secrets. If CVA is hitting the I-HUB in ERVK, you can be sure that everyone with high level status knows. Now ordinary run of the mill line members who aren't directly involved have no idea what is going on but those with the power to FC or unleash caps. They know, for sure.

If you read the news outlets listed above, its no secret that Brave is cracking CVA sov in the Catch region. Unless those outlets make it point to report blow by blow accounts of what is going on, you don't get day to day information. However, don't fret. You can f10 your map and filter for ships destroyed in the last hour or the last 24 hours, then use the information to from the outlets to focus on Catch and see that a fight may be on going in a certain system. From the outside looking in, without the benefit of intel channels, you won't know exactly what is happening.

Please remember that in these engagements, rather expensive ships can be used, and these ships can draw the attention of people who like to destroy nice big expensive ships. In the name of operational security, the big ol'e atron thumping the station, is politely ignored, lest the someone forms up a 100 supers and blaps the fleet for fun.
