Weak ass pun. Nothing funny or quippy about switching hobo to homo. Plenty enough history of people taking offense to it, enough for you to start with anti white knighting though. Again I could not care less about the insult, you could have put any insult there and I would still be right here calling your post a troll post.

Good for you. Good job I don't write my posts to entertain you then isn't.

But the next time you respond to someone attacking your posts, like I was doing for mine, Ill be sure to report you for trolling too, just so you feel that you have made the world safe from what you consider trolling, okay?

I am not reporting anyone, not worth the time as I do not have a problem with a total lack of censorship on most forums. But I will call it how I see it and I see a pubescent troll. Most of your stuff is quippy, funny, and usually spot on. This on the other hand was just adolescent in nature. If someone had not started on you, you would not have even read a word from me on this line.

Came for the Space Hobo, stayed for Ramona's usual gorgeous bluntness and inability to suffer fools glady.

And I would not have been forced to reply to Derrick's wibbling.

I know what you are saying, but if you have read my gibberish so far, you know that I can't stand being called troll when in fact I like the OP, want to help him, and have done nothing but warn him of the dangers of attaching the word "charity" to his operation.

And rest assured, Space Homo, I will be forwarding the isk in approximately 3 hours.

You're right in that homophobia is often over- and mis-used, but what I wanted to call it was considerably less polite.

Considering its not what you think it is, you are being rather foolish to attempt to make it fit your ridiculous definition of homophobic behaviour, and just because you want it to be doesn't make it so.

I don't think you understand what it is. Regardless, you called him a homo as an implied insult, which is bigotry and general jackassery at it's finest.

Twisting and turning words, thats a nice trick there you have going on.

And you got thumbs up for that Blink

Just like the guy that went after you I almost missed your switch of words, and when it did catch my eye, while I know and understand the etymology of the prefix, it felt like it was not intended in the terms you have stated retroactively; but that is as far as it went in my head. But that could just be a symptom of too much time on EvE-O forums, GD in particular.

I started again today in Jita.

Maybe as a result of this post, or maybe just cause people are nice on Thursday mornings, donations have been rolling in faster.

Admittedly, they have been all under 10 ISK, but to be honest I did just ask for it.

Can somebody spare me some pocket change?

It seems like the fed-up inhabitants of the Local chat in Jita still have a heart.

Which reminds me:

I'd like to conduct another social experiment soon.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Do you remember the Gnome Incursions in WoW?

No?

Most people dont.

But what about a Lemming Line/ Conga Line of as many people as you can find setting themselves to follow?

Just the first thing off the top of my head that might be built on.

I almost feel bad that I told OP to biomass, now.
This thread is amazing.

(note: it was not for the content, OP, but rather the length of your first post, that I said "please biomass")

That's actually not too bad of a place to start.

Or something to do with a mass rally.

OR: Getting all the station alts (or as many as possible)at Jita to leave the station and surround a gate. Just for fun.

why do all you heteros have so many opinions on homophobia. and why is ramona so defensive about it. i thought she was better than that :,(

anyway everything seems going pretty swimmingly in this thread so far so we really need someone to start getting upset about something actually related to the original topic

The better person lets themselves be called a bigot?

I think social test #2 for the Space Hobo would be to start a fight with a random stranger.. and lose.

the better person doesn't give in to their knee-jerk reaction to taking offense at being told that something they said was tasteless and then continue trying to defend their tasteless comment even after it's clear to everyone that you did in fact mean "homo" as in "homosexual", it's pretty obvious, we all know how implications of homosexuality are a ripe source of comedy for most of society and trying to pretend that you weren't initially drawing off that is pointless. admitting that what you said came from a place of bigotry is honest, good, and fairly painless

starting fights with strangers isn't a social experiment, it's a way of life

I see.

Another person who equates homosexuality with something bad, and something to be laughed at, and you attempt to call ME the bigot?

Seriously, you should take a good look at yourself before you point fingers.

Think of this as a social experiment. These guys were simply rewarded for their time.

BTW, I'm linking you to a spreadsheet that details the donations received, and the date.
