Why are you all so unquestioningly ok with high sec ganking?

Their game, their rules. If you don't like the rules of the game you are welcome to play another.

The fact that Devs are unafraid to come out and bluntly tell you that ganking is working as intended should tell you something about the nature of the game.

It's meant to be a harsh, dark, dystopian game, unlike other companies CCP have managed to deliver exactly that.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Seriously? I guess if you closed your eyes every time you docked and undocked at Jita.

Maybe if you opened your eyes and looked at what actually goes on rather than live in the past…

No, ganks are ridiculously rare in Jita. There are a few kills, which is to be expected with that kind of concentration of valuables and ships undocking, but look at what gets killed: n00bships and frigates. Then look at who does the killing: serial wardeccers. Gankers have long since been pushed out of Jita with the CONCORD buffs and, more recently, the changes in CrimeWatch.

Then we should find out which game it is and go hunt him down there instead.

Im starting to get the impression CCP is full of Troll's and nothing but, Considering how little they regard high sec gank targets.
Why would they hold them in high regard when they've almost universally made some catastrophic error that enabled that gank? And how is trolling to explain the truth of the matter and telling players that, no, this is the game.

Quote:
in referance to the link i posted you can't dock and be cloaked at the same time so if someones waiting at the station a bit off your landing spot when you warp to 0 on a station in an Instalock Nado how is that not at least partly an exploit?
Nope. Largely because there is no such thing as an instalock Nado, but also partly because it's so trivial to evade (especially in a cloaked ship). Oh, and why couldn't you post in that thread if all you were going to do was to complain about the same thing?

You're quite right that there is no way you can be truly safe in highsec, though. This is entirely as intended. You already got your serious response — you dismissed it as trolling. That was really really really really really really really stupid of you, since you are effectively arguing that the devs are wrong about how the game is supposed to work.[/quote]

Thank you finally something constructive. how do you go figure there no such thing as an insta lock tornado? put Sensor boosters on it... wow... that was hard. anyways my incident happend on DOCKING 1 you can't dock cloaked and 2 theres a good 5-10 seconds between landing and docking so its fairly easy to pop someone in one volley in that time span. 3 id LOVE to know what error i made to cause said gank. all i did was attempt to dock at jita apparently thats a SERIOUSLY bad idea.

but truly thank you for being the only person mature enough to respond to this without flaming me off the fourms.

I do; particularly because every single MMO I've ever played eventually gets flat out RUINED by the devs catering to the whiners.

I'm so glad that in this game ...

If we could wardec them.

Because they seem to have disbanded!

If you don't like it, you are free to vote with your wallet.

Clearly, you don't actually want to play EVE Online anyway. I suggest you burn some of your money by giving it to Chris Roberts, his house in the Bahamas isn't big enough yet.

Perhaps I should expand. By "whiners" I'm talking about the very vocal minority that's always screaming nerf this, nerf that, buff me, make this game easier, make me safer in the game..... on and on and on

Was it really necessary to spell that out for you?

Because game mechanics. The time it takes between the end of locking invulnerability and docking up is 0 — it happens in the same server tick. The time it takes between the ship appearing after decloak, becoming vulnerable to locking, the player manages to click the target, the target actually locking, is 1–2 server ticks. +1 if the ganker is even slightly off on his weapon activation.

Filling every last midslot with sensor boosters gives the Tornado a ~1s lock time on anything cruiser-sized and above, getting closer to 2 seconds for frigates. It does not instalock. It takes a full server tick after all the other information has been sent to the ganker (which is itself another server tick), and then he has to actually manage to fire as well.

Then you're not docking properly. It should be a good 0 seconds between landing and docking.

You warp to your off-axis, negative-range bookmark. You set the station as your destination. You activate autopilot while in warp. You do not under any circumstances turn off your cloak. Instantly on finishing warp, the autopilot activates, and since you are dozens of kilometres inside the docking radius, the docking itself will also happen instantly when the autopilot demands it.

So there's your error. Another one, going on a small detail in your description, is that you're futzing around with half a billion worth of cargo in Jita while there are war targets around. If the “ganker” scooped the loot, he wasn't actually a ganker at all…

you know i've never in my entirely life seen such a Toxic, hostile, hateful comunity then Eve online

i once thought League of Legends comunity was Toxic.... it dosn't hold a wick to Eve's even in the slightest.

id like to point out i never once say anything about nerf this or buff that i just asked a simple question.

May I ?

Warp to 100 to station.

Check for sentry turret in line behind the station.

Warp to sentry turret to 50.

Hover mouse over docking button during warp

When at 0 and the docking button lights up ... click dock.

Instadock!

If there's no sentry turret properly in line ...
... find a proper celestial to use.

Done.

I bet there's not a single station in highsec where this isn't doable!

But it involves BRRAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIINNNNNNNSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!

i've got nothing to add to your first quote as for the second. this is the first im hearing of this off axis negative bookmark do you mean bookmarking "inside" the station and warping to that? as i was warping from gate to jita dock. thats it nothing special other then a cloak.

I mean setting up a bookmark in a place that is practically hugging the station hull, and nowhere near any natural landing spot. Just on top, or directly underneath the station usually works (except for some Amarr stations). Setting the bookmark to the undock is too obvious (and too crowded — you will lose all your stuff there).

Bouncing off is not an issue since the docking triggers instantly — even if your ship would somehow magically shoot off into space (this won't happen… not even with silly large ships that clip into the station model, such as freighter), the request has already been processed and you will arrive inside.

I thought so, since you were attacking the messenger rather than the message. Not everyone who complains wants to make the game easier, but I agree that those people should be curtailed as it tends to ruin the complexity that makes Eve a rich gameplay environment.

Even I don't have InstaDock bookmarks for every single station I want to dock at. (:

Wait ... we can auto-instadock using InstaDock bookmarks?

...

Just read your post above again!

I didn't know that the AP actually instadocks!

Wow, I learned something from a freighter pilot! :D

I've found that there are more decent, mature people in this community than in most of the kiddie games out there. I have often been helped and educated by complete strangers, solely out of the kindness of their heart, and/or their inclination to pass on some of their knowledge. Often right here, in these "toxic" forums.
