Please send all donations directly to Lonely Space Hobo. I don't like having donation money in my wallet =)

If you don't wanna donate, but still wanna help, just tell everyone! It's not just a donation corp, it's a pretty interesting piece of EVE news as well!
Hey everyone!

Just yesterday, while travelling from Jita to Amarr, I was killed in my Rifter.
It was a crap build, literally nothing on it. Pretty much a fast way of getting from point A to point B.
I was AFK, and two guys took me out within seconds.
I don't blame them, it was indeed a good kill.

Feeling rather destitute, perhaps due to a bad case of the Clone Reactivation Blues, I posed as a beggar/hobo in the local chat.
I asked simply for 10 ISK, and stated that I didn't want any more than that.

Two guys paid up within 30 seconds.

I then decided to extend this into a social experiment of sorts: to figure out how generous people were in general, and how much people they would be willing to spend on a so-called "Space Hobo".

I jumped into the next system, and posted the same message again with a slight twist: I raised my max accepted donation amount to 100 ISK.

Two more guys paid.

I landed in Dodixie, and increased the max to 1,000 ISK. This was when I first encountered resistance.

Three guys, who will not be named here, were very rude when I asked publicly in the local chat for "alms". They kept urging me to do some Lvl 1 missions. I retaliated by making up some lame excuses about my lack of a ship (I was in a Naga).

After ridiculing me and accusing me of being a scammer, I brought myself down to their level and struck up a bargain: I would leave the system and stop spamming local if someone donated.

Incredibly, one of those "kind" gentlemen told me to shut up, and accused me of using "reverse psychology" in order to scam people.

After a gruelling battle of wits, a kind stranger (either from annoyance or generosity) sent me 1,000 ISK.

I left immediately.

I decided to push my luck even further and raised my "max" to 10,000 ISK, but before I could start posting in the new system's local, someone from a past system sent me 100 ISK.
This is a copy of the message I sent:

Quote:
Please donate to this lonely space HOBO.

All amounts are welcome,
although small donations of 10,000 ISK are preferred.
Scrap Metal can also be contracted to me.

Thank you, and fly safe!

Arriving in Amarr, I begged for more money in local. Surprisingly, someone who looked to be a scammer (and may be) told me to dock up in station so she could trade me some goods.

She gave me two Barren Command Centers, which I sold immediately for a ripped-off price of 151,099.98 ISK.

I left, very grateful.

As I left, and on the way back to Jita, I received three more donations: 10,000 ISK, 0.10 ISK, and a 10 ISK.

As I am writing this post, I have just sent 10,000,000 ISK to each of those kind donors, even the one that sent me 0.10 ISK.

EVE Online is hard place to work and play. Scammers have taken over trade hubs' local chats, and capsuleers are astonished whenever a legitimate contracts appears in local, where a Charon is not sold as carbon, and you don't get 1 million ISK for a PLEX.

I have just founded Lonely Space Hobo as a company that accepts donations of any amount, and even contracts for junk items.

Some may call me a scammer, but I really just want to do some good in this Universe. If everyone in Jita sent me 1000 ISK as a donation, I would have over 4,000,000 ISK in my bank. Factor in generous people, scrap metal donations, and investment, and that's a lot of money, generated by some people who didn't mind giving away 1,000 ISK.

What am I going to use this money for?
I'll store up enough to make this venture viable.
I am open to suggestions as to what to do with the money. Maybe another social experiment?
Helping others?
You tell me.

Please take time to help this Lonely Space Hobo.

Ahh but I'm not promising any money back.

Think of this as a social experiment. These guys were simply rewarded for their time.

BTW, I'm linking you to a spreadsheet that details the donations received, and the date.

Hence the use of the word variation.

Yours is more honest; it relies on people not expecting money back.

However, Im not sure mentioning charity at all is wise.

I'm not sure I want to keep the money, you know?

The Angel Project is pretty cool though, and every ISK counts.

Do you have any suggestions?

Yes, don't mention charity and The Angel Project in the same breath and to be honest avoid mentioning charity at all, that dog will turn on you.

If you think that, then you have a poor grasp of the english language.

Not to mention a one track mind.

Angel Project.

That sounds like a great name that would never ...
... ever ...
... in a hundred lifetimes ...
... through hundred different universes ...
... fit to me.

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

You're right in that homophobia is often over- and mis-used, but what I wanted to call it was considerably less polite.

Considering its not what you think it is, you are being rather foolish to attempt to make it fit your ridiculous definition of homophobic behaviour, and just because you want it to be doesn't make it so.

I don't think you understand what it is. Regardless, you called him a homo as an implied insult, which is bigotry and general jackassery at it's finest.
