Go to lowsec within the first week and get blown up, then proceed with whatever else.

This, at the very least, will help them realize that getting blown up is a) normal and b) not the end of the world.

Without question, I'd say this : play your own game.

Find what you like to do and have fun doing, and do it, regardless of whether someone calls you a carebear, scrub, noob or whatever. This isn't the kind of game where you start at A, move on to B, then C, then you sit back and lord over the noobs. The most incredible and notorious eve events and personalities are not in the tutorials.

There's a ton of ways to play and enjoy new eden - find out what you enjoy and keeps you logging in, and ignore the haters, because no matter what you're doing in this game, there's plenty of other capsuleers who think you're doing it wrong.

EVE's only content is the other players. Understand that, and you pretty much understand the game.

Some really good pieces of advice in here. Thanx guys.Big smile

Note edited the OP a bit for another question.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

Answer to the edit:

Don't sell that PLEX. You don't know yet what to do with all the money anyway!

Keep up your insurance, and cover your rig.

Lies.

Almost as toxic a lie as "Low sec space=instadeath"

Sure, if you wander into a gatecamp it's instadeath, but there are vast, VAST areas of Low Sec that are practically uninhabited.

Going into Wormhole space in your little T1 frigate is awesome. As long as you have a cloak, probe, and remember to bookmark your damn entrance.

Just be careful, don't talk in local, and don't try to take on the Sleepers in your scan frig.

Advice for myself starting out?

Belt ratting in hisec is super lame.

Don't shoot anchored cans in belts (though that stupid security button makes this one irrelevant...).

Don't play if you have no patience.

CODE is just a bunch of pirates; smart, organized pirates. It doesn't help to rage at them because that is exactly what they want. Dust yourself off and get back on your feet, you don't even have to talk to them.

Doesn't make sense to me, if you're not going to trust anyone, you have already locked yourself out of the possibility of trusting someone else.

Trusting someone has risks, in EVE the risks are more common.

If you're in highsec and no-one is talking in local, type "mama, just killed a man" and watch local erupt into song.

Set goals for yourself, the game won't do it for you.

No-one will be impressed when you're flying a battleship.

Falling for a scam is better than never trying anything new.

Never ever go to lowsec unless you're just travelling and know a lot about the game's geography and active places. You'll just die for no reason. Nullsec is fine though, provided you have the standings.

Being on fire while under fire and lighting someone else on fire can be lots of fun.
Also, fire is just plain fun.

To be more concise, it's not a bad thing to get your ship blown up, just try to learn from it when it happens.
Ask the pilot who violenced you for advice on how to not get exploded next time. They may very well give you some good tips.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

In response to the edit:

Don't train for mining. Don't do it dude. You're gonna hate it and it's gonna get you nowhere. You're gonna waste those SP that could be better spent training for assault frigates and as a result, you're gonna have a 0-30 killboard before you discover you're actually a pretty good pvp'er, and that won't happen for a year after you start playing the game. Then you're gonna have some catching up to do.
