What piece of advice would you give to a noob in game?

Keep it fairly short and actually be helpful, yeah I know asking a lot from the GD crowd but Ill give it a go.Big smile

EDIT: Now for those of you that have gotten this far.... What piece of advice would you give yourself when you were just starting out in your Eve life?

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

Battleships suck, don't make them your goal. Max out a frigate and all its support skills. Then a T2/pirate frig. Then max out a cruiser. Then a T2/pirate cruiser.

Trust no one, but don't lock yourself out of the possibility of trusting someone.

Don't fly what you can't afford to lose. REPEATEDLY.

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

you don't need your character to have 'the necessary skills maxed' before you can have fun (despite some snobs telling you otherwise)

eve is a game of diminishing returns, especially when it comes to the size and cost of .. stuff

i just locked an open door.. strange, yet symbolically compelling.

look at the kill mail....you sploded them right?right? is there anything up with it?

The fact someone has ten times the number of skill-points than you does not make him ten times better than you. A small gun travelling fast can always hit a barn door travelling slow.

Don't go into wormhole space in your little T1 exploration frigate. Bad things will happen... as I discovered to my cost.

These are the most common questions I see in rookie chat:

How do I copy names into the chat?
How do I find asteroids to mine?
My overview disappeared, how do I get it back?
How do I find agents?
I'm stuck in the solar system map, how do I exit/view the star map?
What is high sec/low sec?
My ship blew up, can I get it back?
Where is Jita?
How do I sell my ore?
How do I split stacks?
Is it possible to afford a PLEX before my trial runs out?
Where are Sisters of EVE?

CCP needs to mail the answers to these questions to every new player when they log in for the first time P

Find a group of people to play with. Said group should match your sense of humor and your preferred playstyle - in that order because playstyles can and will change over time.

Be willing to do research.

I believe in being Pro-Active as Opposed to Reactive. Reactive tends to be more costly in time and money.

Join a player Corp.

Playing this game with others and having others to provide advice, is way more productive and fun than playing alone.

Low sec is more fun than anywhere else in the game.
