I've been an on-off player since March. I've read articles in EON, read other forum threads and Corp chat.

I only read the title of your post, rolled my eyes and struggled through the first few lines before giving up. TL;DR, indeed.

You've forgotten or ignored two basic points:

1) You're not dealing with with a scripted AI opponent but other human beings who can screw up, annoy others or lie and cheat.

2) The bigger an organisation becomes, the more likelihood you might have some said human beings who will do the above in its ranks.

It's not rocket science, it's simple human nature - one of the things that makes EVE so damn interesting to play.

Yeah so here's what's gonna happen. In TL;DR format.

DRF + Friends own everything.
Carebearing commences.
PVP players quit to go play WoW
ASCN v2.0 forms, carebears like no carebear ever bear'd.
BOB v2.0 (PL, probably) goes "zomg, you suck"
ASCN v2.0 goes "zomg, we're bigger'n you"
BOB v2.0 resets, kills all

rinse, repeat until the good lord Jesus returns from his almighty lag-free heaven with the banhammer of righteousness

History shall repeat itself. CCP knows this. There's no risk to them.

Humankind rarely forgives true greatness.

Interesting replies. #1 anyone that flys in 0.0 knows PL doesn’t hold any space themselves. #2 correct were talking bout non NPC’s. #3 We are talking about seriously putting them on the defensive, forcing them to become reactive, not proactive. #4 No one ever said it was going to be easy. #5 yes the plan is in fact full of flaws, but it will work, nothing ventured nothing gained!. #6 Goone cant hold it, non can, with out PL running around and shoring up the weak spots.

Ahhh, and #7, Doesn’t everyone think PL will work so very hard to discourage this?Big smileBig smileBig smile

I'm barely a memeber of this game and I even know that total control will end eventually. Like you said this is an aliance of many corps and all it takes is one wanting more power or relistate and it will all go crashing down. Then the cycle starts again. The point of this game( to me... A noob) is expansion. Owning the biggest and best. Eventually someone is going to try and own it all. Then it blows up in there face lol. (monitary system aways fails eventually... RL or not)

Someone forwarded this communiqué to me. Perhaps of some relevance here...

WARNING! ВНИМАНИЕ! SOLAR FLEET. EN/RU

XIX message: "not mandatory" It would be mandatory, if I wanted to take over or destroy a hostile alliance. The sooner the enemy is defeated the better. This seems not to be the case here.

Their first big battle looks on paper pretty intense.Whoever flew through Solar Fleet space saw there more Machariel, t3 and shiny PVE ships than anywhere else. I do not want to know, how many digits the number of ISK has, which XIX made from their renter program. It is by far the most successful of all Eve history. Both sides are so filthy rich. They sure can affort this.

Right now this conflict will not change anything. These 2 Russian alliances were some of hte potentical threats against the Southern Coalition or a hypothetical Goon invasion in the North and still are. The core DRF are not need in the South as it looked so far. NC. Raiden, PL, WN, Ev0ke and the RA block have the Southern Coalition and the Curse alliances under control. It would only become interesting, if the RA block has to fight alone. Then they will lose systems most likely. Until their other blues decide to help them again.

I would like to take a closer look on what the options for Supercapital pilots are:

We all know, in PL it is pretty much carte blanche.

If somebody is a Supercapital pilot in the Southern Coalition, he is in a complicated situation. He can try to sneak in a hostile system and reinforce something. This might work. However the enemy gets of course the message and the timer. DRF still can choose to do nothing and let the Southern Coalition take some systems, while they prepare a trap. They sure do this then. The trap will come and there is nothing Southern Coalition can do to counter with having way less Supercapitals than the DRF.

It changes the whole game so much.

Maybe our brave Southern Coalition SC pilot put a lot of time in reinforcing and conquering something. At some point, when DRF think, it is enough: they time an op with an SC fleet and reverse all that effort in a split part of the time, which the enemies needed. Often the party, which has not enough Supers, reinforces with Drakes or BS a tower, which takes way longer than sending a Supercapital fleet, because they are too careful (rightfully too careful) to deploy Supers.

Repeat this a couple of times and most players say, screw it, I have better things to do. This is one of the reasons, why the subscrpitions are falling and why nothing big is changing anymore. It is like in a dictatorship, when the military and intelligence is too strong. Many dictatorships are very stable and can not be broken from inside. This is why I do not share the opinion with the optimists, who say, it will circle again to something else. Sure, some time in the far future there will be something else, maybe even another game from CCP. You have to consider the motivations of groups, who can do a coup. I see no motivation for them to change things. They are the winning team. The majority of humans always like to join the winners. In Eve the winners became bigger than any other coalition ever was.

My prospective is simple, if you can’t get past the first sentence, then please, don’t fu*ken read it. If this is you, I sincerely have no interest in hearing from you, just ignore this and move on with your game, simple as that. I’m not being judgmental here I just know many in this game have no interest what so ever in what’s happening out here in 0.0. For Those That do Please Read On.

For those that don’t know, the last point in 0.0, that isn’t under some sort of DRF, control is what’s been loosely referred to as the southern coalition. Basically AAA, Red Overlord, Cascade, & other smaller alliances located in there pocket. This is for EVE, these days, in fact, the Alamo.

If you operate a smaller PVP alliance in 0.0, if you wish to help, focus you efforts on pretty much anything else. It’s that simple.

What I consider Expert Small PVP alliances, from 0.0, need to focus specifically on Pandemic Legion. Sending a message to the galaxy, this alliance, in reality can’t just parade around space, protecting this DRF group of care bears, without severe consequences, will sound a shot heard every where in the 0.0 galaxy. This movement alone would literally change everything in 0.0.

If you cant hit PL, then White Noise, NC., Raiden, would be the next logical choice. Even though these groups are merely pawns in the DRF’s plan, they still merit attention.
Save Goons, and Test for last. At this point in time they really don’t matter, but if there convenient to attack, just remember all attacks in this endeavor help.

One thing for those renters in Goon & Test Space, When the Former NC, was at the height of it’s glory, if our renters had in fact banded together and turned against us the NC regulars, we never would have been able to hold them back. Seriously! We were constantly worried about this.

Like I said in the opening, many will find this write up, lol boring, stupid, and will really try hard to dispel anything I say. But I know the right ones are listening, and reading. Stay in touch, keep the drive alive, keep the thread alive.
