Over 100 in-game, unavailable clothes.

EVE clearly contains over 100 items of apparel, most of them are totally unavailable in game. Yet, clearly they exist if one is to deselect 'Show only available' and then access an Apparel market group. Does CCP actually know how much more successful the Nex Store would be if it.... Had variety? It makes it much harder to simply use isk, there is much more depth in character customization and the assets are literally just sitting there, taking up space in everyone's client and in the server.

So, CCP, why are they unreleased?

Much of it is probably already implemented, and as you saw is already in the ui and the database. They don't release it all at once though because then each item wouldn't get the same amount of attention. And by releasing a preview it makes you want that particular item all the more, and check the store more, and perhaps even post threads about how much you want it, so when they release it they sell more. See what they did there?

That person above sounds pretty right,
although CCP is partly overdoing it.
Or underdoing ... depends.

Let's just hope they deliver at Hyperion.

Remember when the Nex store first debuted? They're still unreleased. That's over two years ago.

And you think being angry about it and creating a non-constructive thread changes anything?

What's the point of this thread?

It changes nothing.

I don't remember, have they really been on the market for over two years? If so, then that's not so much marketing as it is neglect.

The OP didn't come across, to me, as angry as much as just pointing out an issue with the NES that hits closer to home with people who favor the idea of being able to customize your pilot's appearance.
Considering that it has been two years, it really seems like a lot of wasted dev time.

If the clothing is substandard and causes clipping issues or that sort of thing, it should be scrapped. If it is good to go, it should be put in the NES. There's no sense in leaving it in the database to just take up space. If WiS is dead, they could at least release the good clothing and try to make a few dollars selling to those who desire it.

Of course. Someone will have to work on rebuilding the POS code sooner or later. So those don't even want to think about getting stuck with it will need a fall back position by saying they have a project they are still working on.

Yes, the famous tights just didn't found their way into Hyperion because of... *CCP*

Make your guess!
...they derped some piece of code
...they were derped by some piece of code
...someone from the art team noticed three wrong pixels in a low resolution texture (ETA for fix: january 201x)
...they just noticed they don't really have that much stuff to release in september (oops!)
...they read that a Fazmarai was interested on those items and just couldn't avoid pulling yet another Structure dress (1,200 days and counting, nice running joke)

I left EvE because I didn't have enough clothes to play space barbie. Why can't I decorate my ships with my little pony logos?

Didn't they pretty much scrap the NEX store after the monocle shitstorm? or was it something else? I am still waiting to purchase a monocle at low price but alas it seems impossible right now.

Eveybody raged at them. -》CCP removed them.

Now, everybody wants them. Get them now while you still can before they cost an arm and a Fedo.

Some of the clothing is rare and/or currently unavailable. Apparently this is a deliberate decision.

Example; left-eye monocles.

Asking for all possible clothing to be made available is like asking for CCP to start selling Guardian Vexors for AUR.

There are 3 primary factions to any given idea or feature that has to do with this game.

1. People who support the idea
2. People who are against the idea
3. People who choose one side or the other for the purpose of trolling.

The clothing in the NES is no exception to this.

There really isn't. There's maybe 1 or 2 unavailable items. Everything else is just colour variations, and the fact that they're treated as different items that clog up the market browser just further highlights how utterly idiotic and incompetent every last detail about the Incarna and NEX/NES implementation was.

But there is a difference in that a lot of the clothing was never made available in the first place.

And how else would you treat an item that has a different 2k and 4k texture in the database?

I think they're trying to slowly release them so that the patches will have new contents apart from the rebalance/nerfs.

By adding two 32-bit fields that represent primary and secondary shader colour (or hell, three or four fields if you want to be really extravagant) and then do it properly rather than bake it into the texture.
