They provide source code to implement yourself. I personally don't know too much about this stuff, but would putting this into the EvE client be against the EULA,, and would it even really improve graphics quality.

Excuse my newbieness, I don't know enough about this stuff to put together a fully informed post so I appeal to the community.

Thanks in advance,
Hingara

Under some narrow-minded interpretations of the EULA, possibly...but then again, there's tons of things that are 'against the EULA' that no one ever gets banned for.

The EVE Client does not employ any anticheat software or anything that's going to flip out and ban you. I suspect you would not be able to login to TQ if you applied this, but I don't really know. Assuming it works, I can't imagine you'd get banned for it (not that the GMs have any way of testing for it).

Three things. First off, if you don't know enough about the technology to know the answer, then you aren't going to be able to hack together a Eve client using it. Hacking antialiasing code into an existing, closed source, program wouldn't be a trivial task.

Second, even if you could do so, I'm fairly sure that modifying the Eve client in any way is against the EULA and grounds for banning, if not legal action (depending on copyright laws).

Third, I don't think that it would really improve graphics quality at all. Unless your camera is right up on objects in Eve, there's not going to be a ton of need for antialiasing in the first place.

Most graphic card drivers these days have setup utilities that come with them that allow you to create customized settings such as increased/decreased AA on a per-game basis and boost a whole slew of other settings as well so you don't even have to fool around with the client code.

Just checked -- modding the EVE Client is Very Bad Karma under the EULA.

I can't get rid of my darn signature!  Oh, wait....
