Advice needed on budget laptop for Girlfriend/Eve holdover.

Greetings all,

So my laptop died last week after 4 years service, cutting me off from EVE!

Previously I was planning to help my gf get her first half decent laptop for light gaming. Our plans have been accelerated by my comp going pop. We are on a slightly tighter budget at the moment and we decided to pool our cash to buy a laptop between us to share until I can afford to build a new pc.

I've narrowed it down to two options at my local Curry's PC World

I know EVE isn't too intensive on resources and my gf would only really be playing browser games, minecraft and maybe some older games.

I just wanted to check if these devices would be ok to play eve on and if anyone had any opinions on these and if they had any better or cheaper suggestions.

What was the specs of your previous laptop? Requirements if you were to build a PC, like do you need a Windows license or do you have one?

edit: I can't sleep (thanks cat!) so I threw this PC build together for you at pcpartpicker.com and while I didn't add a optical drive to shave off a little on price, it is comparatively priced (£358.02) to the HP but with much better performance. Grab a 16GB usb drive and install Windows from there.
