Clothing manufacturers in New Eden are like Leatherman, they offer a lifetime guarantee.

How else do they justify charging the GDP of several dozen planets for a jacket?

Strange thing is even when I'm flying a ship, the portrait is still wearing clothes. For that reason I don't tend to think of pods being full of goo anymore. Would an advanced race really need to sit in a pod full of goo?

You assume that the goo is a necessity, instead of a choice. A sexual fetish, perhaps, mostly only common among capsuleers.

The clothes you buy obviously aren't a physical item. They are a licence to use that particular clothing pattern from any station fabricator. The reason we don't pay per station is because the costs are insignificant to use the fabricator and that it is more than covered by any station services we actually make use of.

Because it's a portrait of your character. Not your character.

Does the picture on your driver's license change clothing when you do?

No, because I don't have a picture on my driving license.

Depends how you view it, personally I'd rather keep the goo out of my pod.

No it doesn't. Which is why I look like a deranged teenage serial killer on my driving license Straight

It's like when Dracula turns into a bat and flies away...the tux falls to the floor, cape and all. He turns back into himself at another location POOF! fully dressed. Things that make you go hmmmm....(Being buried in that gray suit, ending up in Heaven wearing white robes. Clean shaven upon departure, long white beard....)

It's magic! (You know.)

Well your portrait is more like a mug shot taken before your first cloning.

That seems to be the most practical explanation, thanks. I still think there is market opertunites to be had here if ccp puts in the concept that you disrobe, enter pod of goo, reach destination, and dress with the wardrobe in your ship.
Shipping gets destroyed, you have a standard issue of clothing but you would need to repurchase anything above that.
My .02 anyway.

Thanks for the replies.

Actually the pod goo serves a practical purpose. it keeps your body from turning to goo when your ship accelerates at several hundred gees.

I'm not sure what our crews do...

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

I am not buying an expensive ass hat that i will lose when i decide to explode. More to the point, anyone else attempting my fashion would only descrace themselves com paired to my fabulous image that ive worked my entire life to provide you with!

Why is it that people think this game is for everyone?A better question would be "Why do some people think this game is only for them?"

This is awesome idea! I can buy cheap clothing and lose it on purpose to be nekkid. Override restrictions on wearing clothing is a good idea?

Is that my two cents or yours?

On this point, why are we forced to wear clothes in the first place. The models come with underwear (practically painted on their body). Why must I cover up my girlish physique?
