Blood Raider Plexing- Best Amarr Ship

Ok so i'm in a low area of space with blood raider pirates and i can fly pretty much all amarr sub-cap ships (only exception being the marauder). I'm currently scanning down complexes in a covops and running them in my bait drake (I have caldari ship skills for the nightmare).I can do most low sec sites fine but it cannot do the 6/10 and some of the escalations which offer the best rewards. I consider my support skills in gunnery and armor tanking pretty much perfect and a lot better than shield and missiles (i only have t2 HAMs). With the blood raiders natural weakness to amarr weapons i was wondering which ship would be best to replace the drake? I have considered legion, zealot, sacrelidge or even the harb, although of course the tank has to be pretty tough to do a 6/10 since a passive drake can't cut it.
I dont want really want a big juicy target ship, i'm good at checking directional and would be happy to risk anything less than say 700mill. I'm just looking for suggestion's/fits please :)

Range/speed tanking Legion would be my first suggestion (and then you don't have to use a covops to probe anymore either). I'm definitely not an expert on Amarr ships though.

hmm ok i'll have a look. with a ship like that jumping it around i'd quite like a covops cloak. Any fits/ other suggestions guys? Pirate

Unfortunately, T2 Amarrian ships get bonuses to their Explosive and Kinetic resists, which makes tanking these plexes difficult.

Ideally, you'd get a T2 minmatar ship to tank for you while you do the pewpew. (Pewpew!)

Unfortunately, a Legion with a covops cloak is a Legion that hits like a bowl of jello. If you go Legion, fit the probing and cloaking subs for probing and travel, but carry a real offensive sub for any sort of combat site.

Oh, and the 6/10 really doesn't hit that hard if you can kite a bit. It's the 5/10 and minor annex that tend to kill you.

I have noticed the t2 amarr ships have very different resists to their t1 versions and this is bad for sites against laser boats.
the one problem with the drake is its dps, it can tank great as we all know especially with mwd kiting these particular pirates, but those damn heavy missiles aren't great for offence when the rat has any sort of tank i.e. complex bosses and things. On the up side i got a corpum A-type Energized adaptive nano membrane from an escalation in my drake today. so i'm starting to think i must be doing something right :)

Aye, I'd like to see T2 Amarr and Minmatar boats to switch their resists but doubt CCP will do it.

You'd probably want a BS or Loki to do these sites, maybe Sleipner

T2/T3 resists are decided by their role-played adversaries. Amarr's enemy is Minmatar which "racial" damage is Explosive/kin so Amarr T2 ships get extra of that, Amarr being EM/therm means that Minnie T2 ships get extra EM/therm. For both Amarr as Minnie that means well rounded resists for Amarr armour tankers and Minnie shield tankers. Caldari and Gallente do both kin and thermal (albeit in different amounts) so they both get the same thing which works great if you do PVE against either type NPCs. So the resists aren't simply arbitrary but follow a certain logic, meaning that CCP won't change them just because.

Back to your question, a Legion could do just fine but bloods also use neuts which can become an issue on an active tanking laserboat, Amarr just isn't ideal to make that work. A regen tanked shield Loki or Sleipnir with artie and some drones would probably be best.

780 DPS tank Vs Blood raiders, 1500 m/s, 675 total DPS. It is expensive, but it would easily do the job. You can swap in a cap regen matrix for 1 less gun/missile and one more mid slot for more tank or cap.

The Legion tanks the 6/10 blood plex just fine, what you need is DPS of a close range legion to get the bosses down, that can sport some rather serious tanks(you will probably need a still a 2. ship for extra dps to kill the last Officer w/o overloading, dps imps and maxed out skills). T2 Medium rep should be enough if you want to reduce the costs, Absolution is also a good alternative, even if it is lots of effort w/o 50km Optimal, since many ships orbit rather far out.
