Simply put - do drone ship bonuses to drone damage affect ECM drones in any way?

nope. drone bonuses to damage apply only to the damage. There isn't much you can do to add to drone ECM effectiveness, making them a little more random when they work. Still ,never a bad idea if you have the drone hold for em.

May I ask what ship your building?

A flight of 5 ECM vespas has a 60% jam chance per cycle (even without bonuses) against, say, a stiletto. It's my defense in case I encounter a wild red ceptor.

Was also thinking of dumping the hobs/hammerheads for valks/warriors, though I don't necessarily want to turn this into a fitting discussion thread - I only asked this question here because it was too basic to really fit in the other forum sections.

Ignoring the fit.... cause... yeah....

A fleet inty will easily outrun EC drones, especially EC-600's. The EC-600's will really only be useful in jamming off close range or slower ships. (Combat inties, AF's, most t1 frigates, and occasionally cruisers/BC's).

Generally speaking, warriors are the only drones that can catch a fleet inty, but they will rarely drive it off before backup arrives.

Your best defense is to not get caught, and hence I suggest fitting a cloak in one of those empty hi-slots you have!!!
Another excellent defense against tackling frigates is a Neut....

Something tells me your having a lot of fitting problems though..

I'll leave it at that.

3600 m/s MWD speed and 9km optimal. Do they not start jamming until they get much closer or something?

Not enough CPU, though I kinda want to shoehorn one onto there.

A fleet inty travels at 4500-5500 m/s. And while you would think the 9km range would allow them to get a jam off... it wont!

You can try it if you like.... I'm willing to tackle you in a belt, and we'll see if you can break my tackle. Would 5 minutes be a fair amount of time before I call in backup?

Drones are dumb, got it. How would light ECM drones work?

You asked me, and didn't believe me. Tsk tsk.

Confirming EC-600s are medium drones and do not work well against anything that moves at 3000+ km/s. I believe the drones have trouble catching up to anything faster than that since they try to orbit it, not approach it, and they definitely do not burn in front of the target ship. The drones also may begin jamming when they are *outside* falloff, which could gimp them even further.

Also, remember that in order to be even close to catching an interceptor, the drones have to MWD constantly, and the sig radius bloon makes interceptor pilots really happy (hooray, shooting down drones!)

EC-300s might work better, but you're reducing your jamming power by a lot. I don't know if Warriors might not just be better at that point.

At which point I mentioned their 9km optimal and you said "Oh, wow. I don't know, then".
