Destructable Clothing

Disclaimer:
Not sure if this has been hashed to death yet or not, but nothing came up in the forum searches and I haven't
seen the topic posted in three years of lurking so here goes......

1) Why does your clothing survive being podded? Shouldn't the scorched scraps of it be floating in space with your newly frozen meat-puppet?

2) I'm not overly enthralled with playing dress up with barbie and ken, but some are and would it not add another positive aspect to Eve's economy if one needed to repurchase over and above a basic set of clothes every time they were podded?

3) Considering the potential increased cash stream from the New Eden Store, why isn't CCP all over this like white on rice?

Thank you for your time

Because you buy a lifetime supply. Pants cost more than citizens in new eden earn in thier whole life.

1) Has been answered.

2) As someone who enjoys both PVP and toying with my char's look, this suggestion would really really suck. I already have to replace implants and pay for a new med clone which is starting to approach the price of some of the ships I fly.

3) Most NES stuff is already overpriced. Making people lose that stuff on death will only result in noone buying it.

Actually, you are naked in your pod as already stated.

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

Anyways, you are only in undergarments while in your pod. I honestly don't know how it gets station to station when you cq, but meh.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

As a general rule of thumb I would say everything should be destructable as long as it can be crafted by players (excluding tournament price ships and similar legacy items)
So if CCP seeded blueprints for clothing, I'd be happy to see them burned and torn asunder again.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Nope, cloth in Eve is made out of the same material as the Incredible Hulk's pants.

Because if all we needed to do to get neked was get podded there would be a lot more of it going on, at least in the short term.

For some reason, reading thread title my first thought was Mortal Kombat style fighting between avatars tearing clothing.

Is it bad that my second thought was boobs? What?

It's already expensive when you get podded, no need to make it more so. If anything it should be a bit cheaper.

Edit:

It's also the way they set up clothing. We already have a wardrobe full of clothes that you get when you create the character. So destructible clothes make no sense as you will still have free clothes. Only purchased clothes would be destructible, giving a reason for people not to buy additional clothes.

If anything they would be better off making purchased clothes part of the wardrobe rather than a limited add on.

Dude. The actual clothes come off when you go into your pod. When you dock you just get a new set from the caretakers at the station. It's all prefab replicator junk anyway, don't let the designer pricetag fool you.
