Where did all the pirates go

I've been out for awhile and I can't seem to find any pirates. I am outlaw myself and been looking for somewhere to setup and have some pew pew but....... what happened in eve, am I completely blind? I have seen like maybe 3 pirates all in all and they're docked.... there used to be camps everywhere.
Now even Rancer isn't even comped, what happened?
Where can I find some pvp?
p.s.
is this still where all the trolls hang out.

You're right actually. From my experience that is the way it was when I departed.
Looks like I might need to grind my sec status AGAIN.

Is OP locked to a single system?

If you're only looking for -10s then I'm sure Kinakka, Tama, Amamake and Agoze... and the list goes on... If you've only seen three "pirates" in total roaming about, you gotta be in a pocket ass end of nowhere, and basically not move from there.

Wait, are you looking for PvP or piracy? Because those are two different things.

Actual piracy has moved to high sec, because thats where the money is. Pirates are the ones sneaking into corps and ransoming orcas or scanning down autopiloting industrials to find one with a lot of cargo.

Pirates are not the ones looking for goodfights. If you want to fight other combat ships then piracy is the wrong place to look.

I've never understood why people refer to fair (or at least fairish) PVP fights and piracy in the same sentence. Pirates are not interested in giving their targets a fair chance, they are interested in hitting hard, fast, and unexpectedly then leaving with their booty just as swiftly. No pirate in history would have willingly engaged a military vessel except to escape, and would only engage another piracy vessel to try and take it over and add it to their fleet (and that didn't happen very often). If you want piracy, high sec is where it's at. If you want PVP, there are a few places you can go. If you prefer to remain in low sec, find the nearest faction warfare zone and go mess with both sides of the conflict. Or join one, you know, whichever. Or you can come to high sec, the New Order provides ample opportunities for PVP.

If you're looking for low sec dwellers that have low (-10.0) security status then they are still around. They just tend to roam a lot more than gate camp these days, though I'm sure you can still find camps if you care enough to find one.

I just don't care what my sec status is these days, it currently sits at -9.4 or something, but I run sites and it climbs, then i go invade FW plexes and it goes back down. In major battles SC fights against low and high security status alike.

Categorize my playing behavior as you will, I can't be bothered.

Reality has an almost infinite capacity to resist oversimplification.

Piracy has become more... refined... than it was in Ye Olde Days of tackling haulers in LowSec and demanding 50mil. In fact most piracy doesn't even take place in the safety of LowSec anymore... it occurs in HiSec where you have to actually take police and naval intervention into consideration.

You should check out Belligerent Undesirables and Minerbumping for more information on the subjects. I'm also writing a blog about "piracy" in EVE for Pod Born. Stay tuned.
