CCP Gargant tried to take the high road without explaining as to why Code got banned considering multiple teams have forfeited in the past.

My question to him/her - (I have added additional information below)

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4942117#post4942117

and here it is again - (narrative is important for perspective)

So Serious question and I would appreciate a response from CCP Gargant.

If Goonswarm(as an example <3 our goon overlords), or any other (i was about to say null sec) Alliance did not show up for Alliance Tournament for "whatever" reason (considering you do not know CodeDots reason) would that too be eligible for a permanent ban from future alliance tournaments? And what is the reasoning behind Codes ban compared too other teams in the past who have forfeited in previous alliance tournaments.

(Are you going to update the AT rules with - if you do not show up you are permabanned from any future alliance tournaments because I deal with code petitions all day and I hate you and I am upset)

If you bothered to check our Alliance Executor's (by default AT team leader) ((login stats)) and that he had not logged in for over a month etc before the AT, technically you are banning an alliance because of a faulty alliance system whereas the Alliance Executor has(and is) responsible for all the AT information (training systems, communication etc (as you cant dedicate an AT spokesman outside of Alliance Executor))

inb4 random npc alts posting tears/comebacks "but your code"

inb4 submit a petition about this - as the public arena to discuss this information is acceptable (Due to no correspondence about this but (a forum post started from the CCP employee), please respond to this publicly as I have done so (which you have done for whatever reason)

before ISD's/GM's get trigger happy with the lock button this is a serious question for "CCP" Gargant.

1) As other people have pointed out, you and your team failed to notify CCP that you were not going to participate in your match, for whatever reason. You just didn't appear. You weren't in the AT Captains' channel or whatever it's called when it was time to submit bans, you weren't there when the match was supposed to start, your pilots supposedly logged off just before it was match time... the list goes on, doesn't it? People who no-show without any kind of warning or notification aren't people who are worth accommodating in the future, especially when their response is to turn around and try and claim "but it was funny, huh?" when called out on it.

2) Your alliance executor's activity levels are entirely irrelevant. Unless, I suppose, for some reason CODE had him, instead of their team captain (you, as I understand it), registered as the team captain. If that's the case, I say this as nicely and respectfully as I can, you're honestly a bunch of morons and should have gotten that fixed. The AT rep from the alliance doesn't even have to be someone with roles in the alliance, it just has to be someone who exists in the alliance.

CCP is under no obligation to cater to people who, based on their observation, waste the time of CCP and other AT participants during what is supposed to be a serious (but fun) yearly event, or to treat them with anything but contempt when that is the treatment received.

Carebear tears. Delicious.

Did you forget to post under your character ccp gargant? Or are you just some random who felt it was his duty to comment due to all the dolls that had been touched by code catalysts?

Also where is it said anywhere that I was the team captain? Or I was in the code tournament team?

Morwen is a leading member of the Rote Kapelle team, a team with a reasonably notable history of knocking off defending AT champions several times in the past, including destroying Pandemic Legion's Bhaalgorn flagship two tournaments ago and taking Verge of Collapse, ATX champions, out of ATXI. Carebear indeed. And he's 100% correct in my not-so-humble opinion. :)

I can assure you Morwen isn't a carebear nor does his post reek of tears, other than by virtue of containing words that disagree with you (which from what I understand is your alliance's definition of tears)

He's also right.

The fact is that by not showing up due to "whatever" reason IS the reason, not that you begged out of a particular match based on a series of valid reasons (as shown later in the day CCP is willing to work with technical difficulties, for example) but that you both gave no reason AND by all logging off seemed to in fact be willfully frustrating any attempt by CCP to resolve the matter. It seems perfectly legitimate to offer a permanent disqualification to an alliance with a reputation for forced (and sometimes phantom) tear generation after attempting to use the AT as such. Effectively, in addition to your complete failure to work with CCP over the issue, your alliance reputation no doubt worked against you as well to create the permanent punishment.
