PI Extraction query

After the recent price hike (not a whine thread) I re-worked my PI setup to cut down on the amounts I extract, and only produce what I need for my 2 towers.

So some careful work with excel, and some messing about I had it all planned out, and everything should be working fine.

However, I've noticed that I don't get all what I should off the planets.

eg, on my 1st planet, I extract just over 96,000 Heavy Metals to produce 640 Toxic Metals, but tonight, I only got 580 toxic metals. I know I set the extractor unit for 96k+, so I set it going again, and had it set to 97,701 units, 5 heads, 5hr15, and it's showing Output, per hour 18,610 units, Total 97,701 units.

When I press the install program button, the outputs drop to 16,135 per hour, and 84,708 total.

Is this a bug? or is it a feature I don't know about since before I never really noticed what I was extracting, I was always pulling plenty off the planets as the isk wasn't an issue.

And if it is a feature, is there some magic formula for working out how much it's going to drop down by?

At first, I was doubting my excel skills, but then immediately discounted that Lol

your skills are probably a bit low, so your "pre-submit" numbers are a guess. Once you've submitted your plan, you'll know the real numbers.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Ah that explains it I guess, although I've got Planetology & Adv Planetology to 4, I didn't know it worked that way Roll

I can't be bothered in training up to 5's, so I'll just keep checking the figures after I start the process and adjust as needed.

Thanks :)

Could also try spreading them arround more too. I often end up with a higher actual numbr than planned because a certain area was recently heavily depleted.
