Hyperion - Mass Spew Just a thought.

As the proposed changes to W-space have met with the majority of major W space players outrage and as the CSM/CCP has done little to resolve the issue (no 14k is still too high) I would ask that people consider the following, why should ships spawn further based on their higher mass? Since a ship lands on the other side at 0m/s we can assume that no velocity is gained traveling, in fact velocity is lost or neutralized. Alright, CCP obviously overlooked this little mistake or doesn’t care. I am thinking they don’t care; after all they do produce a spaceship game, not reality television. So, let’s say for one moment that ships do gain velocity when entering a WH and that’s how the “justify” this change. If that is the case, ships with greater mass would be more difficult to accelerate and decelerate just as slowly.

Acceleration = Net_Force/Mass

This comes in to play when thinking about objects moving further from the event horizon of the WH where the velocity increase would cease. If we assume that the velocity increases at a constant rate, then the ships with less mass would be accelerating at a larger rate than the larger mass ships (as well as decelerate slower) and thus exit the WH with more velocity, shooting them further away from the event horizon. This would make larger mass ships more stable, meaning they would land closer to the hole.

My proposal is that we change the mass spew to affect smaller ships. Invert the current proposed mass spew. Sling smaller ships further. With the new frig holes this could make those holes more interesting.

Also, take into account HICS with multiple bubbles, them being shot a significant distance. This slows down certain hole rolling techniques without killing all of W space or making us put billions on the line with less of a chance of recovery. It achieves the effect of making holes harder to roll without making capital PVP outside your WH a suicide mission. I already understand that CCP does not care that the new change makes it more difficult with no benefits to any person inside W-space. It also eludes me as to why they do not care. However, I feel this change could resolve some of the issues.

I can say that it will make scouts harder to catch as well, meaning being vigilant about watching your holes will be far more important. It also means Logistics cruisers will no longer land within rep range all of the time, making it harder for large fleets to roam W-space with relative ease. Even more so, neut boats will have longer to burn to get to their intended targets and interceptors can be killed easier as they burn to a target. All benefits if you want to "shake up" W-space PVP.

Please Consider....

This idea is about as good as your defense against QEX

For lols have people spat out the wh moving with jump cloak then you get the choice of what range you appear from the wh heh.

Sadly would make covert ops nigh on impossible to catch but would be one way to make kiting setups sort of feasible.

EDIT: Actually while that wasn't really at all serious there could be potential there with some better thought out use of that mechanic.

If ideas like this are relevant in w-space then I'm glad I'm gone.

If you wan't to get technical, shouldn't wormholes be only one way?

Now that would be an interesting change that would give everyone a collective heart attack.

I think I found the important part. You mean a ship in space, and most especially in w-space, might actually be in danger? #ccplease
