And noctis is superior dedicated salvager to anything else. 8 t2 salvagers with 3 salvage t2 rigs = 80% of access difficulty bonus. MTU just makes salvaging more convenient by dragging wrecks into one nice ball.

This is wrong...
The Noctis has no advantage for Difficulty Bonus... it only salvages faster. Any ship can be rigged to get the same salvage as the Noctis.

Noctis Bonus
5% Reduction in Tractor beam Duration
60% Bonus to Tractor Beam Range and Velocity
5% REduction in Salvager Duration (Speed, not Difficulty)

It can salvage faster than I can lock and click. I use 5 T2 tractor beams and 3 T2 salvagers.

What exactly do you think CCP should do besides extend the 96 km range and give it 50 m3 drone bandwidth?

Remember making the Noctis able to collect more salvage and loot faster can cause market prices to drop.

Yes and with ORE industrial skilled up and 3 Salvage Tackle IIs you'll be salvaging faster than any other ship.

As you said it salvages faster than you can lock them. I've tried both a rigged Gnosis and a rigged Noctis and it's about 20% or so faster, but both lock the same and the Gnosis salvages in one cycle most of the time. I get the same stuff as well.

It's obviously better at speed, by a small variable.
Yet loses quickly to the time lost going back to get the ship.

It's no biggie..
It just seems that having a dedicated Salvager ship should progress as the game does with updates to keep it balanced.

The nerf to the reprocessing really changed the value of loot. Now I typically just salvage with my mission Drone alt and cherry pick the good stuff, since the other items just take up space now, like the cap boosters use to.

At least give it a paint job with Leopard stripes and a large pair of Dice hanging from the rear view mirror.... that would be sweet.

Really?

With no range bonus on the tractors? With no velocity bonus on the tractors? With no reduction bonus on the tractors? With no reduction bonus on the salvagers? With 2 less high slots?

YOUR times might only be 20% less with the Noctis, but with a trained character the Noctis is magnitudes faster.

I think you're missing the point.

If I use a Drone Boat for DPS as an alt rigged for Salvage, I kill the NPC's as well while doing the mission, so I don't go back to get the Noctis. I have two DPS toons on the field and the missions goes much quicker. As is, the only bottleneck from being perfect is the slower MTU. So I will just fly to the spawns and drop it right next to them, orbit the MTU and salvage with the alt, while its drones kill BS's.

The point on upgrading the Noctis was to allow it to be on field with decent DPS (200 Range) and better tractor range to remove the MTU from being needed while in the Noctis.

Not much point debating any longer, as I've personally made my choice to only use it if the missions are in system and then only if it's worth the loot.... you see where this goes right? Obsolete for most situations.

You're free to fly with whatever ship you like.

The point is with 96 km tractor beam range and a huge bonus to salvagers no other ship will salvage as fast.

Everyone has told you this but you choose to pretend they're all wrong. Changing the title to close the thread isn't going to change the facts.
