Once, I found a C2 wormhole in 0.6 sec space and jumped in. After doing some sites, I wanted to get out, but every wormhole I came across led me "down the rabbit hole", until I got into the deepest wormhole space possible.
Everywhere I went I saw dead POS's. No forcefield or anything, just big towers that certainly looked abandoned. I stumbled upon another deep wormhole system that had multiple POS's in it. Of course they can't fuel this, because they have no exit route to highsec. Why do they set them up anyway inf they don't have the fuel?

well theres other thing you forgot

example class 4 static class 4 wormhole, inside class 4 theres example class 2 wormhole inside class 2 wormhole there might be highsec entrance , there iyou go and refuel your pos its kinda complicated go througt wormhole chains but still managable.

In every wormhole system, there is at least 1 other wormhole (AKA exit wormhole or static) that leads you to another wormhole system or directly into high-sec, low-sec or null-sec. So you can always find a way out to do some stuff in know space.

Once upon a time, in a wormhole far far away, I tried to anchor a POS on a moon, but it cancelled anchoring with the message: 'That's no moon. It's a space station.'

They have no route to KSpace, you say?

How did they get there in the first place, then?

Wormhole POS's are fueled from the tears of stranded day trippers and lost explorers.

If w-space POSes run on tears then there is enough fuel reserves to run all w-space towers until CCP goes out of business just based on the Hyperion release.

Only certain kinds of tears. Wormhole tears have to much bitter residues. It funks up the intake valves. The sweet virginal tears of cvs bears with their high innocence ratios work best.
