Will you be adding a new randomizer to the number generator for WH ID'd so numbers are not as easy to read.

If i dont know something about EVE. I check https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/ISK_The_Guide

All ID will be know so fast. Big smile No need to scan so many things.

Is this for WH sigs only or all sigs?

While you are at it, can you guys make the sig id a part of the default name when saving a scanned sig to a bookmark? Would save some time and make a minor quality of life improvement.

This is a Good Idea.

Others... not so much. But this one I like. So thumbs up for little things.

Thank you CCP Masterplan for doing the stated impossible and getting this awesome change done. Persistent signatures are something I've heard people talking about for the entire three years I've lived in wormhole space.

We used to have to copy bookmarks to everyone in corp and now we only talk about those bad old days. I look forward to reminiscing in years to come about the bad old days of changing sigs.

Sounds good. But this being EVE, I wonder if there are any unintended consequences.

While I know this intent was mainly for wormholes...I assume this carries over for all space? Those of us in Lowsec that scan a lot, and leave sites as honeypots would indeed welcome this change.

Excellent. Big smile

This will make life much easier.

Less rescanning = more time for hunting !

I'm sure my desired format won't match your desired format. If they do that, would be nice if they let us configure the BM default format.

Surely this change effects lazy wh home system sitting ducks. Yay less re-scanning.
On the other side its a slight nerf of k162 and static's speed analyzing.

I thought speed is king for catching anything.
Though all this theorycrafting isn't worth an isk before we taste all Hyperion changes at once.

Could you confirm also, after downtime a wormhole bookmark will remain at zero?

Example:

1) Before downtime, a C3 -> HS wormhole is scanned and bookmarked (bookmarking the wormhole via right-click).

2) After downtime, the bookmark remains at zero on the wormhole.

----- What happened previously:

2) After downtime, the bookmark could be within 7?km of the wormhole randomly. I presume this was because the wormholes were respawned and can have a slightly variance when doing this.

Not the case. If you warp to the bookmark for the first time after downtime, you'll land at 0 on the sig, which could be as much as 10km or so off the actual WH. Every warp thereafter will be at 0 on the wormhole.

The same occurs with anom bookmarks. For example, escalations spawn almost exactly 60km straight up from the default warp-in on C5 combat anoms. If I warp in, bookmark 60km up, and we escalate but don't clear, the first warp to that bookmark the next day will land me at 0 on the site. Every warp thereafter will land me at 60km up, where I'm supposed to be.

What happens is that the grids aren't actually initialized after DT until someone warps to them. As a result, until you load grid at that signature, all bookmarks on grid with that signature point to 0 on that sig, rather than where they are actually supposed to be.

The wormholes don't move, they just sorta cease existing, in a sense, until someone loads grid with it.

As a point of note, that can actually be a give-away as to whether someone has jumped in from that wormhole that day.

Say, for example, that I have my static and a nullsec hole in my system. After downtime, I find that the static is EOL, then rolls. Later in the day, after confirming that none of my corp-mates warped to the nullsec, I warp to 0 on the bookmark myself. I land 8km off the wormhole instead of at 0. I can be more sure now (but still not totally sure) that the static is probably still closed, since no one has jumped in through the NS hole since before downtime, much less since the static rolled, so the only people that could have opened it would have had to have been in the system before downtime (or come in through the now collapsed static).

Similarly, if I warp to 0 on a K162 BM in my system left over from the prior day and land 8km off of it, I can be sure that there aren't any cloaky dictors on grid with it waiting to catch me when I jump back home through the hole.
