Dam these missions would be good in low sec, if they could be run in reasonably cheap navy or t2 frigs with pvp tackle fit it would mean more people flying solo and I'm sure taking a few fights along the way to break up the boredom of PVE.

If it works well they should consider putting them in low sec too, and let them be run in common Tech2 PVP set ups.

Burner Missions will be available from the normal level 4 security mission pool, issued by agents across highsec, lowsec and nullsec space.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

Its awesome, but I still have to grind out garbage level 4s to find a fun mission. That sucks.

Well, just search for a corp with a lot of level 4 agents, then go around and ask/decline until you get a burner mission. But don't worry, CCP already promised more of them, up to cruiser sized later on and maybe their own dedicated agents with some sort of restriction attached like epic arc missions.

Well, I wouldn't worry, probably over 80 or even 90% of L4 mission runners in High Sec haven't trained past racial frigate level 3 - there are going to eb a lot of people bruning and then offering them up for fleet or asking for help...

And imagine all the gankers in Osmon waiting for the SoE runners to get one, watch the palyer frig blow on 200.000 D-Sccan and warp in an gank the rat °°

Lots of content coming...

I can remote rep the rat without getting flagged right Big smileBig smileBig smileBig smile

Don't forget they have sleeper AI, which targets enemy ewar and reps first. So hopefully your gank frig is up to the task. Lol

That's a really awesome idea. It will surely refresh the missioning experience and might interest more people into PVP. If anything, I would suggest the Burners to have randomized stats and tactics. Some sort of modular PVE content. Apart from that, a big +1 from me.

Alternative scenario: Mission runners try them and realize just how much of a nuisance PVPesque PVE is and don't do them again. Some might do them every now and then for a laugh or an occasional adrenaline rush. I only see a very tiny minority that might think about venturing more into PVP after playing such missions.

Sorry must've misread it, I'm half asleep here.

Anyway I don't think I want to start grinding lvl4's in low sec just to get a few burner missions now and then, which is a shame. High sec doesn't need dedicated agents for them, but I think low sec would benefit from having a few agents who only give this type of mission.

If I read CCP's plans correctly, they want to add more and more burner missions over time, including slowly heavier targets up to cruiser missions.

So nothing speaks against dedicated agents later on, with some sort of restriction to prevent farming. (Something like 7 missions per week/agent)

Overall, the entirety of New Eden proftis from this fresh, new system of missions. Their decision to add them to High, Low and NullSec was a good one and I expect dedicated burner agents to likewise be spread over all of New Eden.

In my opinion, that's a quite pessimistic view. Not all mission runners are as PVP-aversed as it seems. Myself, I run missions and other PVE activities just to fund my PVP and other activities (and because it's fun on itself).

I wonder about the name of these pirates, "Burners". I wonder whether we'll get a chronic along with the expansion...

I believe Incursions are a strong parallel to this, though my observations there indicate different results.

Perhaps you're right, though. Perhaps people will walk away embittered against a game they don't understand.

Perhaps that's just the status quo.
