I would bet they did it on purpose, either to troll the alliance tournament as a whole or to bank in on the bets for RvB against CODE. That would be a LOT of ISK made in a few short seconds, certainly enough to keep them going for the next year in terms of SRP and such.

Or maybe the FC wasn't there and they decided nobody else could FC the tourny and quit the field, only time will tell

There is a mittani story forthcoming on this but long story short, we ganked a freighter with another alliance's tournament fleet in it. We withdrew after having seen it; anything otherwise would compromise the integrity of the tournament.

Clockwork Pineapple were the reason code were even in the alliance tournament, since we floated them the isk and plex to get started. However they just didn't have the people wanting to even participate. Their FC Loyalan0n wanted to legit have people participate and have a serious run, but their own membership couldn't give a ****. With a month until the start of the tournament they had done no practices, didn't have a team and didn't even have a single comp set up. We tried to get them to have a few members tag along to our practices against rote, but they just said **** it and kept shooting freighters.

With that even the tiniest rest of reputation was uterly crushed
Those catalyst ban wouldn't have been plausible anyway, since those would be banned for sure.

Sooo, any bets on this match have to be called of since CODE. manipulated the fight.
I suggest some punishment like 30 - day charakter bans. CODE knew of their inability and let CCP and the tournament down.
This shows not only massive incompentence but complete disrepect for the Tournament and its regular fighters.

CODE. nobody could have hit them better then themself!
